  1. I remember someone making these (Cobra Company?) but haven't the foggiest as to where I might find any. All help is appreciated!
  2. Progress! Now to go back to the cockpit and re-install everything and then attach the canopy parts. Dare I say it's downhill from here.
  3. Wings adjusted and roots faired in, etc.
  4. Bummer for sure. I'll go on and finish it and move on to something else.
  5. After taking a closer look I do believe the fuselage is slightly warped. Not a thing I can do about it so I'll just have to live with it. Sure wish I had noticed it when I could fix it.
  6. It might be slightly out but some of it is a optical illusion due to lighting and areas that have primer on them and others that don't. At any rate there's nothing I can do about it now.
  7. I hadn't noticed that but it does look out of alignment. I'll have to check it out. If it is there's nothing I can do to correct it at this late date.
  8. This much has to be trimmed off to allow the wings to attach with the proper dihedral.
  9. Hanging low right now! LOL
  10. Taped the wings in place just to show what will have to be dealt with to get the correct dihedral. Piss poor engineering by HpH.
  11. LOL! Hopefully I won't need quite that much!
  12. Ready to attach the wings to the fuselage. Not going to be a slam dunk by any means judging from past experience. It'll take a fair amount of trimming but it will get done.
  13. Duplicate post. Sorry.
  14. The Mk III is one of my favorite German tanks along with the Panther. Lots of nice kits of both available.
  15. It's not that I dislike Russian stuff as much as it just isn't my "thing" Ernie.
  16. I'll consider it Ernie.
  17. Yep. Too bad alright. And they did such a nice job on the surface details, etc. Must have been a different bunch doing the engineering.
  18. Thanks Ernie. I've been doing work on it off and on during the B-24 build and now decided it's time to finish her off. I'm still a little undecided on markings but it's possible it will be a French a/c in IndoChina/Vietnam as I have the nice decal sheet for that. However, I'd REALLY like to do another US one but haven't found any, other than "A's", that I like. I will stick with a "C" no matter. A Russkie one would look good but I just can't warm up to that.
  19. Thanks Gaz. That's right but now I intend to stay with the '63 until it's finished. Done with a lot of the high cuss factor stuff except for mating the wings to the fuselage. THAT has a pretty high cuss factor. I don't know why HpH didn't do a better job of engineering this kit as it would be a lot more enjoyable if some of the worst offenders had been paid better attention. Maybe they just wanted to irritate us!
  20. Resuming work on this one. Stay tuned.
  21. LOL Phil. Maybe so but for now I'm returning to the HpH P-63. I want to get it completed even though it too has some fit "issues". Since I've already built 2 I know what to look for, etc. so there won't be any unpleasant surprises (fingers crossed!).
  22. As much as I hate to say it but this SOB is going to the SOD, at least for now. Nose fit, at least for me, has a rather high cuss factor. I'm just going to set it aside until such time as I need something to cuss at.
  23. Just a heads up for anyone building this kit in future. DO NOT add nose weight until after assembling the nose section but before attaching to the fuselage. I found out the hard way this can throw off the nose pieces resulting in a lop sided nose. I've had to remove the right side nose piece and some of the BB's on that side to fix that. Thanks goodness for debonder.
  24. I think I've added adequate weight to keep it from being a tail sitter. I had to do some trimming on the cockpit parts to get a good fit for the left hand side of the cockpit. No big deal as that will not be visible later.
