If any of you have the Smithsonian Channel take a look at the above named video. All about how they made the movie "Fury". Very interesting. Too bad the ending of the movie was pure fiction. Still, well worth watching.

That guy probably did get a visit if he didn't have a Class 3 license. No way can I afford to fork out $15k or so for one.

I collect guns. This MG 42 is one of my pet projects that I have worked on off and on for a good while. It's de-rated to semi-auto to be legal (no way I could afford the cost of ammo for full auto!). I just finished a re-work on it and hope to take it to the range soon.

As posted previously, this is a really nice kit and I look forward to building it. Preliminary interior painting, etc is underway now but nothing glued up yet.

As things happen sometimes I have decided to model a different TW a/c instead of Brewery Wagon. It'll be GI Ginnie which was one of only a few 376BG to bomb a Ploesti refinery. It survived the raid. So I'm dropping this thread and starting a new one.

Thanks Phil. I have about decided 1/72 is the best way to go with 4 engine a/c although 1/48 is a fairly close 2nd. 1/48 is best for twins I think. Depends on the subject.

They do present a challenge Ernie. That makes it so much better when they are done.

The first two I built I carried on until they were finished just like any other kit. This time I decided to just use it as a on going build and devote time to other projects along the way. That way I don't feel "pressured" to keep after it when I have other things I want to devote time too.

It does look really good.

Since finishing the Academy Minicraft 1/72 B-24D as "The Sandman" which survived the Tidal Wave raid on Ploesti, I decided I'd get the Hasegawa kit and do "Brewery Wagon" which did not survive the raid. After looking over the parts there is no doubt this kit is head and shoulders above the old AM kit as far as detail, etc is concerned.

I had planned to work on it until I was ready to do something else. It'll stay put aside for a bit but I will get back to it later on. Right now....another 1/72 B-24D from Tidal Wave. Hasegawa kit this time.

Time to set it aside again. Made some progress and will get back to it a little later on.

I might point out that the kits I'm showing are complete, unstarted, etc. A very small part of my collection of oldies.

Remember those old Lindberg kits? They had some neat subjects.

Memories like these are valued. The "old" modelling days are very well worth remembering.

I agree Jeff. Hardly any comparison to the kits of today.

These are the first 3 plastic kits Revell made. I was 6. My dad bought me the Cougar when I was sick with the mumps! Been building ever since! Part of my collection of oldies. (You can find them on ebay but priced VERY high for the most part.) I don't think I'd could bring myself to sell them and others in my collection. If y'all want more pics let me know.
