  1. Here is a shot of my other kit, which I do not intend to build, to show a comparison with the one I'm now building. Just to show the molding attachments that were removed from the other kit. Not a big problem.
  2. Yes indeed! They are really nice kits but ARE a bit of a challenge (and pricey too!).
  3. Indeed! The previous owner had removed the moldings but it shouldn't present any problems.
  4. As you can see there is a bit of cleanup, etc needed. Not a big problem!
  5. Coming along nicely.
  6. Yes Ernie it is too bad it is OOP. Gotten hard to find now. I'll still take one of your stash kits if you decide to let one go at some point.
  7. I have been wanting to build another one of these and was able to get another kit recently so here goes. I plan to use the decals HpH issued for the French AF a/c used in Indochina. Should look really nice. Something a bit different (at least for me.)
  8. Thanks. Their kits are very nice with much detail. Not inexpensive though.
  9. Yes. I forgot to add that in my earlier post.
  10. You need FS 30279 Sand for the uppers and RAF azur blue for the undersides. H&B Hobbies has them in their Colourcoats line. They are: ACRN16 Gulf Pink Sand and ACRN12 Azure Blue. Those are RAF colors but they closely match the US colors.
  11. I know how you feel. Some kits have just a bit more aggravation than others. That's one reason I really like Tamiya. I don't recall ever having any high cuss-factor problems with any of them.
  12. I have been considering doing that but it seems the doldrums have passed for now. However, I have a number of armor kits I plan to build "some day" and some ships too. For now I'll continue on with the F-84. Thanks!!
  13. LOL Normally that might just fill the bill but I just finished one and I'm not ready for another right now.
  14. I hate it when this happens! I just can't seem to get the "want to". I have the HB F-84E on the bench but haven't done much work on it other than some painting on the AMS cockpit/seat set. Seems I have to make myself go work on it and usually wind up just sitting there and staring at the parts. Bummer!
  15. Well excuuuuse me!!!
  16. I stand by what I said about getting the SB2C several months ago from Greg. I don't understand why you are disputing what I said. HpH puts a number with a black marker on each fuselage half. Mine is #189.
  17. The SB2C is resin, no fiberglass as far as I can tell. Greg is a stateside HpH vendor. He's on Facebook if you want to contact him.
  18. I got my SB2C from Greg Cooper several month's ago.
  19. Phil, Parts number 20 and 21 are for a closed canopy (as I expect you already know). In a pinch they could substitute for the open canopy pieces #23 & #22. You could still use them, in your case one, to replace the buggered up piece. A little sanding around the outer edges might be needed to enable the "replacement" part to allow the sliding canopy to clear it. Just a thought. John
  20. Looks good. Best of luck on the engine/cowl fitting. It made me say words that aren't even known yet!
  21. If anyone has one of these you would sell or trade for please send me a PM.
  22. I hate to hear that. You can get replacement sprues from Tamiya so why not try that? Save the model.
