  1. Thanks Tim. You will be glad you did build one. Great kits and a pleasure to build.
  2. It should be a enjoyable build even though it isn't a Corsair . I have always liked the Ventura and Harpoon and was pleased and surprised when Revell introduced it.
  3. By the time of Torch the SBD's had twin .30's in the rear pit as far as I know. I recommend that you get a copy of the D&S book on the SBD. Lots of useful info there.
  4. Thanks for the input! I am sure it will come in handy during the build. I'm undecided on the bomb bay doors but we will see. I looked at your build and you really did a first class job on the NF. VERY nice work!
  5. It appears to be a nice kit and a easy build. I'm ready for something different after all the Corsairs, etc.
  6. Yes, a 3-tone Pacific bird as it stands right now.
  7. Moving on from the last Corsair build I think it's time for this. Revell 1/48 PV-1 Ventura! It's been in my stash for a long time staring back at me from the shelf. I will use the Vector cowlings and prop sets along with the Ultracast wheels and Zotz decals. Stay tuned!
  8. Are you building a Operation Torch a/c or something else?
  9. Needless to say, there won't be any more of these in my stash.
  10. Thanks. It was a SOB to build and spent several months on the SOD.
  11. Thank you Gaz! That would be one heck of a display LOL!
  12. LOL OKAY Ernie. I wasn't able to post anything for some reason.
  13. Thanks Ernie. Yes, I'll head on over there and post it.
  14. Thanks! That is a good looking -4 and would make a great looking model if Tamiya will ever release that version. It would be possible to build a reserve -1D in a similar scheme as I have seen photos of those. Something to think about!
  15. Thanks Carl. Ya can't have too many Corsairs! LOL
  16. As you all know I love the Corsair and, as far as I'm concerned, the Tamiya kits are the best and a joy to build. I decided to build this one as one flown by Marion Carl. Paints used were Colourcoats, Model Master and Xtracolor. After market items are Barracudacast wheels and cockpit detail decals. The seat belts are by FineMolds. I haven't added the stretched sprue antennas yet as I'm sure they would get broken while taking photos. I hope you like the results of my efforts!
