As I expected they can't ship enamel paints to the US. BUMMER. A few years ago I got some via a contact in England but, since I've slept since then, I don't remember who it was. I was hoping to find someone who would send me some "under the radar" so to speak.

Hopefully 4 tinlets wouldn't be a bank breaker. We'll see.

The last I heard they were not allowed to ship enamels to the US. I looked at their site and saw they had the one's I need but didn't try to order them. Might have been a mistake on my part so I'll give it try. We will see! Thanks!!!!

Thanks guys. Yes, I have some Colourcoats paints and have used them in the past. They work well but I really wanted the gloss finish of Xtracolor paints this time around due to the large decals and the possibility of silvering, etc. I think I will just go on and use the Colourcoats this time anyway and then overspray with clear gloss although I was hoping to avoid that. Thanks again!!!!!

I'm preparing to start painting the Tamiya Lancaster and find that my stock of Xtracolor RAF Dk. Green and Dk. Earth have problems. I want to replace them but, as far as I know, no one in the States carries Xtracolor anymore. What I need is 2 tinlets each of X1 Dk. Green and X2 Dk. Earth. Can one of you guys in England help me out on some? Needless to say I will foot the cost of the paint and shipping. If someone here in the US can help that would be the quickest way to get what I need. (It wouldn't have to be 2 tinlets of each if push comes to shove LOL.) THANKS!!!!

Thanks Phil. Yes, they are a nightmare to get a decent fit. I had to do a fair amount of trimming and filling with plastic putty and they still aren't 100%. I finally said to heck with it as I was tired of fooling with 'em (and was very tempted to put it on the SOD). Pretty high cuss-factor actually!

Both were enjoyable builds but the Tamiya was a bit more involved with more bomb bay details and cockpit details. Fit was a little better if I remember right (3 yrs ago on the HK).

It's a really nice kit Kevin and I know you will enjoy the build. I look forward to following along! (Here's a pic of the one I built a couple of years ago.)

Santa came in the mail. Married folks can relate

LOL Ernie! Since I have been divorced for quite a long time I don't need to get a opinion from a wife (or girl friend for that matter!). I have a hard enough time deciding on which kit to build and in what markings etc without someone else's opinion. LOL Roll on my friend!!! -
Lancaster ND644 in 32nd scale
JohnB replied to FME erk's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
This will make a really nice Lancaster. Too bad there are so many things to correct, etc. For the price it shouldn't be that way. At any rate, I look forward to following your build! (At least the wireless ops windows are in the right place!) -
I wonder if this particular Lanc was new or passed on from another squadron, etc.

I just hope to live long enough to see my top 2, Hellcat & Wildcat. Come on kit manufacturers, I'm getting older by the minute!
-
I agree Phil. Fingers crossed they will!

I'm a little surprised no one has already started this. So....I will LOL. Not necessarily in order, all 1/32. (I know some are available now from Trumpeter and others but, in my humble opinion, they leave a lot to be desired or are difficult to find.) F6F Hellcat series F4F Wildcat series F4U-4 P-51B/C F9F Panther and Couger F8F Bearcat A-20G B-26 Marauder P-38G/H PV-2 Harpoon Hawker Typhoon That pretty well covers my wish list.

An assortment of completed builds for 2020

Some very nice work there Carl! Well done. -
At least the B-24 is 1/72 Ernie. LOL

Thank you Mike!

Thanks Gaz! Yes I do like the Hellcat and Wildcat. I have a couple of Hellcats that I built a few years ago and another in the stash. As for Wildcats, there just isn't a accurate 1/32 kit out there or I'd be building some. The Trumpeter model has some significant problems with the fuselage behind the cockpit (too wide). Too bad. Maybe Tamiya will some day issue a kit of both a/c in 1/32. THAT would be outstanding! (By the way, that's a P-63, not a P-39. )

Thanks Ernie. That's fine with me.
