  1. As you all know I love the Corsair and, as far as I'm concerned, the Tamiya kits are the best and a joy to build. I decided to build this one as one flown by Marion Carl. Paints used were Colourcoats, Model Master and Xtracolor. After market items are Barracudacast wheels and cockpit detail decals. The seat belts are by FineMolds. I haven't added the stretched sprue antennas yet as I'm sure they would get broken while taking photos. I hope you like the results of my efforts!
  2. Finished. Check RFI.
  3. I thought so too but the more I looked at the photos of the real a/c the more I decided the light blue was just wrong. I removed the national insignia from the upper wing and the fuselage and replaced them with some from the kit. MUCH more accurate than the goofy Fundecals I had used. I still need to overspray them with some clear flat but you can get the idea, etc. Scanned Section 4-1.TIF
  4. I look forward to seeing it Phil.
  5. Decaling completed. Now for a overspray with clear flat then on to some weathering. The more I look at the model the more the decals for the national insignias don't look "right". I hate to do it but I'm going to take 'em off and replace them with some that, in my opinion, are better. Fingers crossed.
  6. Thank you Ron!
  7. Thanks Ryan. Coming right along.
  8. Wait until you get to placing the cockpit tub and the lower wing/resin wheel wells.
  9. Good luck with this build Ernie. At one point in my build I threw it on the floor and stomped on it (good thing it was on thick carpet!).
  10. Thank you Gaz.
  11. Main painting done. Weathering, etc coming up after adding the walkways.
  12. You have my sincere sympathy Ernie. People can really be a-holes.
  13. The Fly Hurricane Mk II is right up there with poor fitting kits. VERY high cuss-factor.
  14. Congrats Ernie! Well done.
  15. LOL! Patience grasshopper, patience.
  16. That will work! Thanks.
  17. I'll look into that, thanks.
  18. I don't know if that would be satisfactory. The Trumpeter SBD-5 prop works (that's what I used on my NZAF P-40N build). The -3 kit comes with the early prop and the later one if I remember correctly.
  19. I wonder why they discontinued it. You'd think it would sell well especially with the P-40F conversion still available.
  20. Yes, I know but it still isn't listed as available. Bummer.
  21. Thanks Mike. I'm glad you like it.
  22. Still looking. Does anyone have Grey Matter Figures email address? It isn't on their web site.
