  1. I'm glad you like it. Thanks!
  2. Thanks Hubert. I do too!
  3. Sandman didn't have any particular significance Jeff except for the fact she came through the raid nearly untouched. I just like the a/c. I had initially thought I might do "Brewery Wagon" but finally decided on "Sandman" as she was in sand/neutral gray, etc. "Brewery Wagon" was OD/neutral gray. My interest in the Tidalwave a/c was tweaked after re-reading "Ploesti" by Dugan and Stewart plus the availability of the nice Pyn-Up decals with excellent associated research. Pricey but worth it. Just as a aside here, I was looking at the HB kit box art and noted it was of "Wongo-Wongo" which never made it across the Adriatic to Ploesti. Somebody's wishful thinking I guess.
  4. Thanks Martin.
  5. First step is paint the interior parts. I don't plan to do any detailing on the insides. It's not that big a model and most won't be very visible anyway. My main thing on this one is the exterior which I plan to devote plenty of time on. Should look great with weathering, etc. Here are a couple of pics of the real a/c.
  6. I appreciate the input Carl, thanks.
  7. What are the short comings of this kit guys? I want to know before I make my decision to get one. I might just go with the ProModeler 1/48 "D" due to cost and size.
  8. Thank you Rob. It's a nice kit and a easy build but markings, etc are a little limited. I'd recommend getting the Kagero book, which comes with decals, before starting a build.
  9. Thanks Phil. The new camera should put a end to all the crappy pictures!
  10. Yes he did.
  11. The little voice in the back of my head keeps telling me to consider the HB 1/32 B-24D. How about some input from you guys about this kit. Worth the money, etc?
  12. Thank you! I tried to be a bit subtle on those.
  13. Thanks Carl. I just couldn't bring myself to trash it out.
  14. I hadn't thought of that! Thanks.
  15. This will be the Academy Minicraft 1/72 kit with Pyn-Up decals. I'm not sure it goes here on LSM since it isn't large scale, etc. Let me know moderators.
  16. Finished. Check RFI.
  17. All done with this one. The art and photos I have show it in a very weathered condition. I didn't want to do that so I made it as it might look before all the weathering. Just some moderate weathering, etc. After market includes Barracudacast wheels and Kagero decals. Painted with Xtracolor. I replaced the kit exhaust stubs with some from a Hasegawa P-40. I think they are a bit more accurate. Bear with me while I get used to my new camera! I hope y'all like it.
  18. Thank you Harv. I think my new camera will work out just fine.
  19. Thanks Martin.
  20. A comparison to my earlier build of this kit. Very noticeable I think.
  21. I replaced the kit exhausts with some from the Hasegawa P-40. The kit exhausts appear to me to bee slightly over-size. I think the P-40 ones look much better. Still a little touching up needed.
  22. Thank you. I finally got tired of trying to get my old camera to work properly so I "bit the bullet" and bought a new one. Seems to be okay.
