  1. Seems a little "bright" but I'm going to leave it be.
  2. Aeromaster RLM 83 done. Now for the RLM 82. After that I can start on the dappled camo on the sides.
  3. Undersides painted RLM 76. Now on to the uppers RLM 82 and 83.
  4. Getting there Kevin! Fingers crossed.
  5. Thanks Carl. I'm glad it's seems to be on the downhill slide. I plan to start painting tomorrow.
  6. Thank you Peter. My fingers are crossed also but it looks like all the hassle is done. I'll start painting either tonight or tomorrow. I'm hoping for a really cool dappled camo job.
  7. Nacelles, etc attached. Now to sand and smooth out the putty.
  8. That ought to dress it up nicely Scott. When the really nice Xtradecal sheet for this 262 showed up I decided to resume the build. Not a real fun build but it ought to be a real looker when finished (I hope!).
  9. I figure there are more issues lurking in the shadows. I'll be finding out soon! 🤪
  10. Back working on this thing. Finally got the wings on after a fair amount of trimming, puttying and sanding.
  11. It IS a PITA kit for sure but I guess I'll keep working on it on and off (or until I get fed up again).
  12. Having a lot of difficulty attaching the wings. Working on it. I think I'll begin my Hasegawa P-40N build and work on this on the side.
  13. Thanks, I'm glad you like it.
  14. LOL Peter. You need to put your glasses on! LOL😄
  15. Since the really nice Xtradecal sheet showed up I've decided to resume this build. We'll see how it goes! Couple of photos of the weights I put in the nose. Fingers crossed it won't be a tail sitter if and when I finish it.
  16. Done with this one. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/20165-magic-factory-f4u-1a-finished/
  17. After some trials and cussing I've finally got this one done. The only after market hardware were the seat belts. The national insignias are from the kit but I replaced the rest of the markings with some from a Aeromaster sheet as they were proportioned right, the kit side numbers, etc were over-size. Painted with Testor's MM Dk. Sea Blue acrylic, Testor's MM Intermediate blue enamel, and Tamiya white acrylic.
  18. Thanks. Yep, I expect to start decaling tomorrow some time.
  19. Lots of painting done today!
  20. I had forgotten I had posted this thread. At any rate, it should be some help to anyone embarking on a Revell P-51.
  21. Good luck Chris. Those problems are why I have decided to go with Tamiya in future. More pricey but worth it I think.
  22. I've built several of those and always had trouble attaching the wings to the scoop. The big problem area was always the cutout on the bottom of the wing where part of the scoop is supposed to slip into it. I've never had one that fit right. Lots of trimming and sanding needed.
  23. Fuselage together.
  24. Thank you. They compare very well. Many of the parts look like "rescaled" Tamiya parts.
  25. Looks good Peter. I think it was very common to see canopies and other parts from different builders on various other Mustangs since, I think, they were interchangeable. Must have made the replacement situation good for the maintenance folks.
