  1. Painting completed. Alclad Aluminum over Alclad Black Base. Next will be some decals.
  2. Thank you Dennis! I'm pleased you like it.
  3. Thank you Paul. I'm glad you like it.
  4. Thanks Peter. I wouldn't say "brilliant" but thanks anyway.
  5. Finished and RFI. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/20149-tamiya-spitfire-mk-ix-rfi/
  6. Another build finished and ready for inspection. I've always liked the look of the Mk IX's in this scheme and decided it was time to do one. After market stuff is the cockpit door (Barracudacast), exhausts (Quick Boost), and wheels (Eduard). Painted with Xtracolor, Colourcoats and Testor's MM. Decals are all from the kit. A very enjoyable build and I hope you like it! PLEASE remember to click on the 1st photo for best resolution and to view as a slide show. It makes a BIG difference! THANKS!
  7. That jig setup looks to be a great tool and I figure everything on the Cutlass will be "right". I look forward to seeing the finished bird!
  8. Thank you Peter. It's coming right along.
  9. Just about done decaling. I'll do a little touchup then overspray with some clear flat. Then I'll get the exhausts done and a bit of weathering. Waiting on some resin 4-spoke wheels from Scale Hobbyist to show up hopefully in a day or two.
  10. Thank you Scott! I'm pleased you like it.
  11. That might work well Kevin. I did some perusing of photos of NMF Jugs before I did the last one and decided there just didn't seem to be a lot of that. At least not in the photos I looked at. Certainly not like on P-51's. We'll see, I might decide to do a little something.
  12. So do I Peter. NMF was just the right "color" for them.
  13. The CAMO came out okay, thanks. Tedious work.
  14. While waiting for the paint to dry on the Tamiya Spitfire Mk IX I'm going to proceed with another 1/48 Jug build. I'll use Thundercals on this one too (no sense in letting those nice decals just sit in the stash).
  15. Top camo in place. Now I'll set it aside until it's good and dry then see about some decaling. Probably tomorrow or Friday. Meanwhile I'm doing another 1/48 Razorback Jug and plan to use Thundercals on it too.
  16. Agreed Peter. I really like Xtracolor and use it as often as possible.
  17. Sure is shiny isn't it Chris! Great paint.
  18. Excellent paint. Airbrushes very well and you get a really nice gloss finish. Too bad it isn't readily available in the US.
  19. That's the thing about Xtracolor. Great gloss finish which negates the need for a clear gloss overcoat.
  20. Applied the Xtracolor Azure Blue this afternoon. Wow! Nearly had to put my dark glasses on!!! LOL I really like Xtracolor but it takes quite a while to dry. I'll set the Spit aside until tomorrow. It should be dry by then and I can apply one of the top colors.
  21. Thanks Dennis. I agree that color scheme looks good on a Spitfire. I think the color scheme plus the blue/white codes really "pop" on these desert birds.
  22. Me too Chris. Most of the N. Africa schemes look interesting, especially for the Poles with the blue/white codes. I wish Tamiya would resurrect their 1/32 a/c line. Too much to hope for I'm afraid.
