  1. Fuselage halves sanded and primed.
  2. LOL We will see! 🙂
  3. I decided to do another FW-190F so I ordered a Revell kit on ebay. I didn't realize it was one of the old mold kits until I opened the box. LOTS of heavy rivet detail which aren't very attractive plus some soft molded interior parts. Oh well. I broke out the sand paper and started cleaning up the fuselage halves. Will need a good bit of elbow grease but should go a long way to improving it's look. I plan to replace some of the parts such as the canopy and some of the innards. I just hope everything fits!
  4. Thanks, I'm pleased that you like it. 🙂
  5. Thanks Chris. I appreciate the nice compliment. 🙂
  6. Finished: https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/20405-tamiya-corsair-f4u-1-conversion-to-1a-rfi/
  7. All done here. The only after market used were the FineMolds belts. Painted with Colourcoats and MM acrylic. Decals are from Cutting Edge. I feel the conversion worked out okay. 🙂
  8. That would have been a great idea! 🙂
  9. Making some progress now. The undersides are painted white and next is the Intermediate Blue and GSB.
  10. Okay, time to get back on it. 🙂
  11. As it is as of this early afternoon. (The piece of card taped to the tail is to protect the stub antenna.) I'm gonna set it aside for a bit and take a rest from building.
  12. Coming along really well and looking good! 🙂
  13. Thank you Peter. 🙂
  14. Making good progress on the cockpit.
  15. I plan to convert my -1 Birdcage kit to a -1A. Since I have lots of left over parts from previous builds it should be easy peasy. What is needed is: Replace the wind screen and canopy with a -1A set. Replace the turtleback and rear cockpit pieces with ones from a -1A. Add a length of tubing on the tail wheel to get the lengthened version. A correctly shaped armor piece is also needed. I decided to scratch one. Not real pretty but useable. There are a few differences in the cockpit instruments. I intend to leave as is. Like I said, easy peasy. 🙂
  16. It's about time!!!! I know I'll get some. 🙂 Now maybe they will consider a F4U-4 in 1/32.......🙂
  17. Thanks! I'm pleased that you like it. YES, that engine/cowling fit was a bear! High cuss-factor all around. I had put this one on the SOD due to that but finally decided to resume the build. After much trimming of parts and test fitting I finally was able to get everything together. It's apparent to me Revell intended this one to be built with the cowling open. 🙃
  18. I'm glad you like it Peter, thanks. I think it turned out just fine. I just bought a FW-190F-8 on ebay and plan for that to be my next build. I hope it delivers by the end of this week but we will see. This is my intended subject.
  19. In my very humble opinion I think they should print THAT in large black print and not the national insignia notice.
  20. A word to the unwary. When I bought the Hussar decals for this build I wanted them for the a/c with the checker board rudder and cowling. When they were delivered there were no checker board decals included. I contacted the seller and his smart ass reply was that was noted in the decal sheet description on his ebay site. No offer for a refund or any helpful advice. I never saw that section of his sale post (2nd page). If I had I wouldn't have bought the decals. Here is his site. https://www.ebay.com/usr/hussarhobby
  21. Thank you Hubert. 🙂
  22. Thanks Chris. Yes, a silver pencil. Look okay to you?
  23. Done! https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/20383-revell-fw-190a-8-rfi/
