  1. This is a very nice kit of a subject that has been neglected in the past. The FM-2 is one that I've liked for a long time and was happy to see where Eduard had decided to issue one (in 1/48 but beggars can't be choosers!) I wonder if they are considering one in 1/32? THAT would be great! This model was done OOB except for the decals which are Aeromaster. Painted with Testor's GSB and oversprayed with Alclad clear semi-gloss after decaling was completed. I have another on the shelf that I plan to do in the 3-tone scheme. I hope y'all like it! PLEASE click on the 1st image for best resolution and to view as a slide show. THANKS!!
  2. Thanks Peter. Next I'll finish the Wildcat but what's up after that I haven't decided yet. I'd like to do another P-51 racer but we will see.
  3. Thanks Kurok. I'm glad you like it. I think my favorite is the "N" since you can do so many different color schemes.
  4. Finished with this one. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/19687-hasegawa-49th-fg-p-40e-rfi/
  5. Finished with this one! Mostly OOB except for FineMolds belts and Grey Matter props. Painted with Mr. Color acrylics and Testor's enamel. Kit decals. I hope you like it.
  6. Thanks. It's such a easy kit to build ya just can't help but "fly" through it.
  7. Thank goodness for Tamiya masking tape!!!
  8. Turned out really well Peter! A lot of work to get it that way!!! I LIKE it!
  9. Painting done. I'll spray some clear gloss then start decaling.
  10. Me too! It was just the wing insignias which hadn't been in place long. I re-wet them and tweeze'd ''em up. No sweat.
  11. Agreed, the Wildcat looks really good. Those are some old Aeromaster decals. I started on the kit decals but they didn't turn out too well so I pulled 'em off and got out my decal file on the Wildcat and found a couple of Aeromaster sheets I had had for a good while that were just waiting to be used!
  12. Nice thought Peter but a bit too late for that.
  13. Thanks. Darn near ready for paint! Going a lot faster than I expected it would so I might set it aside for a bit and resume working on the FM-2 since it's ready for decaling.
  14. Thanks Carl. I agree, that tail section join line was a real PITA. I did the best I could but I think it will still show some. I'll live with it. This is such a easy kit to build (everything FITS except for the tail section) it should go fast. One of these days I'll have to start on something that will take a good while to build I guess LOL.
  15. Thanks Mike. The undersides and part of the uppers are Gunze Mr. Color Gloss White acrylic but I ran out and finished it with good ol' Testor's Gloss White. I was a little concerned the Testor's enamel might not "agree" with the acrylic but it did just fine.
  16. The Hasegawa 1/32 P-40's have been around for a good while but they are still nice kits. I plan to build this one OOB except for the FineMolds belts plus I intend to use kit decals to do Landers's "Texas Longhorn".
  17. Looking good Peter! Very attractive scheme.
  18. Thanks Carl. I agree. Very interesting and it makes building the same a/c at different time periods nice.
