  1. The older I get the clumsier! I knocked over a bottle of Testor's OD a couple of days ago. Thankfully it just spilled on the instructions sheet and was easily cleaned up. 🤪
  2. Agreed Carl! I just ordered another -1A to keep my -1D company in my stash. LOL
  3. I don't know when you looked last Gaz. 🙃 But I guess this IS another Corsair. Last one was a birdcage, this one is a bubble top RNZAF bird.
  4. Making some good progress. Work on the wings is next.
  5. Looking good Peter.
  6. I've always liked the Nick as it's a cool looking airplane (so is the Frances). I built a 1/48 Nichimo kit something like 25 years ago and still have it. Your model, I'm sure, will be a beauty Bill!
  7. Your '38 is looking good! Hard to beat Tamiya kits.
  8. Thanks Carl! It will have to really be weathered for sure.
  9. Couple more cockpit shots.
  10. Thank you Kevin!
  11. Cockpit about done.
  12. Thanks. Didn't have to anneal them as they were very bendable unlike other steel belts I've used and had to anneal.
  13. Since I haven't done a New Zealand a/c before I guess it's about time to do one. Tamiya -1A (of course) with Eaglecal decals for this nice looking bird. In keeping with my usual procedure I paint most of the parts while they are still on the sprue. A little touch-up will be needed later but this process works well for me. Finished off the seat first using Eduard steel belts which are very flexible and not real stiff.
  14. Thank you Pete. No, there aren't any conversion sets that I know of unfortunately and it appears Tamiya has stopped issuing any more Corsair versions in 1/32. The only -4 I'm aware of is the Trumpeter kit which needs a good bit of work to make it anywhere near correct.
  15. Interesting
  16. Thank you Kevin! I'm please that you like my work.
  17. One of the big pluses for Tamiya kits!
  18. Looking very good Peter! Well done gear wells.
  19. Thank you Peter! In all honesty I don't think this one is quite up to what I had intended. I finished it off mostly just to go on to something else if you know what I mean.
  20. Thank you Dennis. I'm pleased that you like it.
  21. Thank you Maru!
  22. Finished. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/19334-birdcage-corsair-done/
  23. I'm calling this one done. Painted with Testor's Model Master. After market items are wheels and some Barracuda cockpit decals. Markings are a combination of Tamiya and Techmod. I had originally intended to do more weathering on it but decided to just finish it and move on.
  24. Testor's Model Master
