  1. As near as I can see the Cavalier F-51's did not have anything except lap belts and no shoulder harnesses in the rear cockpit. That's the way I'm doing my build and hoping I don't find out later to the contrary.
  2. Thank you Martin.
  3. Yep, always something. 🤪
  4. Thank you Peter. In measuring out the placement of the "FAB" decal under the wing I found two of the already in place rocket stubbs were in the way. No way would the decal sit over them so I had to pop them off and re-paint that area. Now I'll again have to wait for the paint to dry before I can proceed with adding that particular decal but I think I can go on and apply some of the decals in other areas. We will see!
  5. Coming right along. Decals soon.
  6. Thanks Phil.
  7. I have a tinlet of Compucolor which is the same FS # as the Mr. Color I was using. I'm seriously considering using that to finish painting the model. They seem to match up okay so we will see after I do a test run. Fingers crossed! Update: It matched perfectly so I was able to go on and finish painting the model. I had forgotten that Compucolor takes a long time to dry and stays tacky for at least over night. So now I still can't handle the model to do more to it. 🤪
  8. Thanks Peter. Always waiting for something.......🤪
  9. Painting coming along except I've only got a smidgen of Lt. Gray left. Not enough to finish the model (underside not painted yet). Ordered more from SB but meanwhile I can work on other areas of the model.
  10. I did one some years back with the cowlings off but I'm too lazy now. 🤪
  11. Thanks. No, it will be closed up.
  12. The '51 is coming along well Peter. Looks good!
  13. Starting to look like a Cavalier Mustang.
  14. Vast improvement I must say!
  15. More Enforcer photos.
  16. Sounds good. I hope it will be of some help, etc.
  17. I'm pleased to have been of help Carl. I take it you are going to install the tip tanks. That should look good!
  18. Thanks Peter. I hope it does help anyone building one of these conversions to avoid that mistake. Fortunately it's not something that is hard to correct.
  19. I decided to do the tail modification and looking at the instructions it looks to be a straight across cut. WRONG. There is a stepped cut needed for the replacement part to fit on. I, in my ignorance, went on and did a straight across even cut without realizing that was incorrect. I found my mistake when I tried to test fit the new part. As I had already cut the Tamiya rudder too short I had to go to my spares box and try to find a replacement. Luckily I had a left over Revell rudder that fit just about right. I did the correct cut on it and now it appears to be good to go. SO, if any of you are planning to build one of these conversions keep this in mind.
  20. Coming along well Dave.
  21. Agreed Carl, thanks!
  22. Thank you Peter. I thought the light gray would look good and I'm pleased with the way it turned out.
  23. I agree Hubert. Far from being the best looking Mustangs.
  24. Getting started on this one. Cavalier made many changes to the stock P-51's including painting the cockpits white or very light gray. I opted for very light gray on this build and mixed up a batch of Mr. Color acrylic.
