Since I haven't done a New Zealand a/c before I guess it's about time to do one. Tamiya -1A (of course) with Eaglecal decals for this nice looking bird. In keeping with my usual procedure I paint most of the parts while they are still on the sprue. A little touch-up will be needed later but this process works well for me. Finished off the seat first using Eduard steel belts which are very flexible and not real stiff.

Thank you Pete. No, there aren't any conversion sets that I know of unfortunately and it appears Tamiya has stopped issuing any more Corsair versions in 1/32. The only -4 I'm aware of is the Trumpeter kit which needs a good bit of work to make it anywhere near correct.

Birdcage Corsair done

Thank you Peter! In all honesty I don't think this one is quite up to what I had intended. I finished it off mostly just to go on to something else if you know what I mean. -

I'm calling this one done. Painted with Testor's Model Master. After market items are wheels and some Barracuda cockpit decals. Markings are a combination of Tamiya and Techmod. I had originally intended to do more weathering on it but decided to just finish it and move on.

Accepted.

LOL Phil! If you say so.

Looks like a -4B due to the 20 mm guns but it could also be a AU-1. I'd bet on a -4B. As far as I know the pigtails attach to the very end of the rocket into the exhaust area. I saw a diagram for that but I couldn't download it.

I hope it is of some help.

Not the best of photos Frank. but still I think you can see where the "pigtails" attached to the wings.

Well you DID intrude and I don't appreciate it.

Thanks Troy! I set it aside a while back but still do a little work on it from time to time. It's a good kit and builds up without a lot of problems. Nearly done so I should be posting a RFI pretty soon.

I decided to airbrush the wing walks and try to "fade" them some as they were very faded on the real a/c.
