  1. Thanks Peter. I really just wanted to finish it and move on to the Cavalier P-51 build so I'm afraid it's not quite up to my usual standards. Oh well. 🙄 Who knows, maybe I'll come back to it later on and do some more work on it.
  2. Thank you Gaz. I don't think it's one of my best efforts however as I wanted to get it finished and move on. At any rate, there it is, all done and ready to join my P-39 family.
  3. Thank you Dave. Not one of my best efforts I'm afraid. 🙄
  4. Finished with this one. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/19409-sh-p-39d-done/
  5. I decided to do the a/c flown by George Welch in New Guinea. You'll remember he and Taylor were able to knock down some Japanese planes at Pearl Harbor flying P-40's. Not a real colorful bird but typical of the P-39's in New Guinea in 1942. I added brass .30's on the wings, hollow plastic tube for both the .50's and the nose 30mm. Painted with Testor's, Humbrol and my mix for Bell Green in the cockpit, wheel wells and landing gear. The only after market I used were the Zotz decals. I hope you like it.
  6. I guess I'll have to do some ad libbing on some of the details such as the tires.
  7. Some very useful info Martin. I figured Cavalier had changed the cockpit color but guessed it would be a light gray. A little surprised to see it was white. Now to begin work on my Halberd conversion.
  8. Talking with Martin we decided to open this research thread on the Cavalier Mustangs. Particularly regarding the color(s) Cavalier used in the cockpits. Important to know when building the Halberd conversion. Stay tuned.
  9. The other is Peruvian Dave.
  10. If you meant the light gray Bolivian bird with the shark mouth then that is the one I've decided on.
  11. Thanks Hubert. Right now that is the one I guess I'll do. Nice and colorful.
  12. The postman just delivered my Halberd Cavalier F-51 set. VERY nice detail work and great looking decals. I'll get started on this very shortly but I'm torn between doing the USAF marked bird or the non-camouflaged Bolivian bird. Both appeal to me so we will see! This Aerofax book has some good photos and info on Latin American Mustangs.
  13. I've been using Roy's stuff for a long time. Always 1st class.
  14. Thanks Paul. I'm glad you like the results of my "labor" LOL.
  15. Thank you Gaz! Something a little different this time.
  16. I have one set aside for the Halberd Cavalier conversion Carl. My USPO tracking says it should show up in the next few days. Now we need to get Peter to do one too!
  17. Thanks Gaz. Nope, no Russians.
  18. LOL Dave! Not a problem!
  19. Thanks Dave. Yes, I'm afraid so. They all are short. ðŸĪŠ I'd recommend getting this reference.
  20. Ready for paint!
  21. Thank you! I appreciate that.
