  1. LOL Phil. Ya know, us old retired guys have to have something to do to pass the time. I'm glad I have this hobby as I've enjoyed building models ever since my mom gave me my 1st kit, a Hawk F-84, when I was about 6. Many many models since! LOL
  2. A much easier build with none of the headaches. I don't think it appears much different from the ZM except for the engine compartment.
  3. Thank you Peter. I'm pleased with the way it turned out.
  4. Completed. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/19246-bf-109k-from-sod-completed/
  5. Revell Bf-109K-4 that I had started a while back but put on the SOD. Rescued and completed! Painted with MM, Mr. Color, Gloy and AeroModel. Belts are FineMolds. Cockpit, spinner/prop, and decals are EagleCals, etc. I'm glad to have finally finished this one and I hope y'all like it.
  6. LOL Gaz! I do have some ships in my stash that I hope to build at some point.
  7. I guess so Peter. And I still have a -1D in the stash.........🙄
  8. Thanks Gaz. Crossing the finish line soon!
  9. Thanks. I hope to finish it off either tonight or tomorrow.
  10. Finished with the decals. Next I'll attach the landing gear then do some exhaust stains and a little weathering.
  11. If you are going to build a Corsair you couldn't have picked a better kit!!! A real nice kit that builds up well and will be a standout. I've built 16 of 'em! -1 Birdcage, -1A Framed Bubbletop and -1D Clear Bubbletop. Needless to say, I like the kits!
  12. Both Revell Germany (FW-190-A8/R2 Sturmbock for one) and Hasegawa (several '190's) would, in my opinion, be the way to go if ya want to build a good '190 model.
  13. Kinda looks like one to give a pass. Too many inaccuracies for what I'm fairly sure the price will be. I'd stay with Hasegawa if you want a good FW 190.
  14. Camo painting completed. I'll spray some 02 in the slats area then I'll overspray with clear gloss so I can apply decals.
  15. Don't know why they didn't do any color call-outs Peter but I will be happy to assist you in that. No problemo! LOL
  16. Thank you Peter. The SOD surely did need thinning out!
  17. I too lament ModelMaster abandoning their enamels. Some of the best around. I really like Xtracolor but it isn't available here anymore. The only way to get a "supply" is if someone in Britain will send it to me. HINT HINT!!! LOL (I still have a lot on hand but there are a few colors I'd like to get a re-supply of).
  18. I've been a enamel user for all my modeling years (over 60!) and am now trying out some acrylics. So far I've tried mostly Tamiya and Mr. Color (Luftwaffe) and some MIG Ammo (Luftwaffe). I've had good luck with Tamiya and Mr. Color. Mig seems okay but I haven't used it enough to make much of a judgement. I don't have their thinner so I guess I should pick some up. I will still use enamels as my #1 paint but the acrylics will get some use too.
  19. I just ordered one of these as it appears to be a really nice kit of a '190. Checking here on LSM I found your build. Nice job! I look forward to starting this one as soon as it shows up!
  20. Coming right along. I was pleased that the wings fit so well! (By the way, this was rescued from the SOD. I had already done significant work on the wings and other areas.) I've decided on this one.
  21. I installed a nice Eagle Parts cockpit set, FineMolds belts, and Quick Boost guns. I'll clean up the seams and then attach the rear fuselage pieces.
