Special Hobby F-80C saved from SOD

John Holy Smokes, a Shooting Star - one of my all-time favorites. is it the Special Hobby kit? Will be following all the way. -
THE FRONT OFFICE IS DONE The Front Office is done with the addition of the remaining Tamiya parts and the Quinta Sutton Harness which didn't fit all that well. I managed to break it twice up to this point. The Quinta detail set is a nice upgrade to the already well detailed Tamiya cockpit and except for preparing the parts where the details go, no surgery is required. Next up after the fuselage halves are glued up, the wings.

Oliver Right with the guys ... keep the build moving ahead.

Paul Right on the money and my way of doing things these days as well. Just seems almost everything I am always wanting and need is either out of stock or back ordered and then the waiting game begins.

Rob Geez neither of the two paints seem to match the decal exactly; one is a bit too light and the other is a bit too dark. Just can't win. of course,

Just love the 106 but way too big for me in 32nd scale. -

Paul Are you planning your motorized version to run or just part of the build? -
Paul, nice additions to the stash, one thing for sure, you can never have enough mask sets as well. Seems if you don't already have the one you need for an upcoming build, it's always out of stock when starting the new project and then the hunt is on.

Rob Awesome addition with both the kit, AM and paints. One of my favorite Ferrari's and right up there with the 274GTB4 in my eyes.

Thanks Chris for the well wishes for Diane and me. I found on huge projects as the F4, I like to build, paint and weather the missiles, loadouts and gear much earlier in the build then the instructions call for, so when I reach that stage in the build, all I have to do is glue them in place. Just saves a lot of time and mojo and I won't rush it. Stencils are a boat load of work and tough on the eyes. Just keep alternating the areas and they will eventually be finished and conquered.

Rob Right with Carl, the CF decals look awesome as well as the brake calipers. Small details that add up in a big way. -
Chris Looking mighty good and a small break from all the stenciling has been well earned. Maybe take a deep breath and a few days off, regroup the troops and then you will be fired up to make the run for the finish line with plenty of gas in the tank. Huge projects like the Phantom, just seem to be nearly never ending and at times it's hard to stay focused ... I seem to be there a lot these days.

Thanks Paul, I thought that was a motor - just don't see many these days on our model builds. -
Chris Amazing work. The F4 is a Big Guy and of course a huge kit in both size and complexity. Don't worry about the deadline, as for starters, you had a late start and it's a kit with a load of issues you had to correct and fix. There were a few times on my Tomcat build I felt like not adding all the stencil data but after a night or two of taking a good break, I went back to it with new vigor, went to town and was so glad I actually added them all. I knew down the road; it would always have bothered me if I left some off because they beat me in the end. if I missed some, that was by accident, but I tried to add all I had. Don't worry about the deadline, the GB is over, the important point is to finish, following your plan from day one as the F4 will be on display in your home for many years to come. Besides, there is a good feeling you get, knowing you won the battle of the stencil data and the build itself. Keep going!

Carl, amazing work. The kits detail is incredible, and your 'perfect weathering' touch adds so much to the kits' look and feel.
-
Dave brilliant detail work - looking so good.

Paul Nice start on the Mk. IV, as Tamiya and quality go hand and hand. I'm sure you are going to enjoy your latest project. Is the kit motorized? -

Carl Loads of repetitious work and they are looking mighty good. When I first looked at the photography, I couldn't imagine how all the road wheels belonged or went with the Sea Fury; a senior moment for sure. . -
Martin Happy Birthday, 50 years young. Enjoy your Special Day as there are so many more BD's in the future to enjoy. 🍷 Sure wish I was looking at my 50's again, as I'm looking at 77 square in the eye. ;
