  1. Looking forward to both your Spitfire and Kate builds - going to be a pleasure to hop on board and follow your progress.
  2. Paul WOW, that's a terrific assortment of Dspiae very high quality tools. Over the past month, I'm pretty sure you have purchased virtually their entire line and no question they will open up new and more efficient ways of modeling. I have some of their tools and the quality is amazing. Enjoy
  3. Paul Absolutely will be doing a build thread on the GWH A-10C as soon as the Quinta cockpit set is released.
  4. Just arrived this morning and from all the reviews, this is THE A-10C. I have the HB 1/48 A-10A in the stash and plan on building both this year. As a Long Island Boy, anything Republic and Grumman's are near and dear. I've already ordered an incredible 3D printed Aces II ejection seat and of course, I'll have to wait for the Quinta cockpit set to be released. The kit front office does look incredible as is, so it's a tossup of what to do.
  5. THE FRONT OFFICE The more time I spent working on the front office and marveled at the details, I am constantly being reminded of all the Tamiya 32nd scale Mustangs I’ve built – Eduard's detail and molding is that good for 48th scale. Molded parts are crisp and detailed, enhanced with an excellent painted cockpit PE set. No resin is included and that’s fine. I did add some Quinta details to the office from my spares box including the seatbelts and harnesses as I wasn’t crazy about the PE ones. With PE, I prefer to glue them in place prior to painting and then would need to struggle to hand paint them. I just replaced them with Quinta’s offering. I used a host of paints for the front office, both airbrushed and brush painted: MRP, AK Real Colors, Model Air, Tamiya Acrylics, Ammo by Mig and AK Metallics, all were applied over a base MRP Black Primer. Loads of dry brushing to bring out the incredible details with Tamiya Sky and Medium Gray. To help with the blacks, both the fuel tank and office floor were painted with Tamiya Rubber Black as these parts were part rubber to start with. The IP and rudder pedal assemblies are finished as well but are to be added much later in the build. Even though all my other Eduard Mustangs have PE frets included with the kits, I’ll be adding the appropriate Quinta sets as well.
  6. Scott Mighty nice progress on your Fisher Cutlass - surely going to be a beauty.
  7. John Holy Cow, your Spit look awesome – decals and markings are absolutely perfect and spot on the money.
  8. John Awesome fill in / alternating build with the Spit. Just love those NMF Jugs.
  9. Thanks Mike .. right with you and love the scheme. Underway with the front office and hoping to have that part of the build finished this weekend.
  10. John Nice work on the cammo - looking fantastic. Another beauty in the making.
  11. Martin Right with the guys - some mighty creative and incredible modeling. Looking so good.
  12. Thanks Chris, completely agree, Shu Shu should be an eye catcher for sure. Yup, I've used Eduards new style decals before and no issues at all. If use in the traditional manor, they are applied as always. Removing the carrier film is an extra added bonus if needed.
  13. Nice work on the front office - looking mighty good.
  14. John Perfection - the underside paint went on perfectly. For a finish like that, waiting a day for it to dry is well worth it for sure. 🏆
  15. Hi Chris When it comes to Vallejo paints, I always use their dedicated thinners and cleaners to help eliminate any possibilities of contamination and a huge mess next time I use the AB with another brand of paint. I always follow up my AB cleaning with lacquer thinner as well. I'm very careful with Vallejo paints an actually have a dedicated Grex AB for just them to be extra careful. I also use Mig Thinners and AB cleaners as well but do not have a dedicated AB for them. I have had good luck with Ultimate AB Cleaner but find it pretty expensive. ,
  16. Thanks John I once saw a 32nd scale Hasegawa kit on display at the old Squadron Shop in Syosset with this scheme and always wanted to build a Mustang with this scheme.
  17. EDUARD P-51D MUSTANG Shu Shu Maj. Norman M. McDonald, CO 318th FS, 325th FG, 15th AF Mondolfo, Italy April 1945 The Kit Shu Shu My next project is one of the Mustangs from Eduard’s Limited Run Red Tails & Company Dual set. Initial review of the parts; the details are amazing, with masks and PE included but no resin parts as this is not a Profi Line kit. My build plans are for an OOB build with a NMF fuselage and lacquer painted aluminum wings. There are no rivets at all on the wings but there are the major panel lines, which I plan right now on leaving. Decals are Eduards new style and I’m planning on removing the carrier film from the fuselage but not removing it on the rest of the Mustang. Finish is going to be a combination of Alclad and AK Metallics and Vallejo Metallics for the wings right now. Starting work later today.
  18. Dave Some wonderful work and a very unique subject for the GB. So very well done. 🏆
  19. Rob Bravo - absolutely a brilliant build, especially considering the difficulty of the project. Finish is flawless and the figures look mighty good. And of course, the tutorials that became part of the project will be book marked for future use and reference. 🏆🏆🏆
  20. Mark Looking mighty good and so glad you tailored the Quinta cockpit set onto the Aires set.
  21. John Looking so good and have to agree - covering up the prop hub is a shame as the detail and your finish look so good.
  22. Martin, very much appreciated. I have always preferred my builds in a museum type finish and the Jug surely fills the bill. An awesome kit, not new but it's fit, details, instructions and zero frustration factor are right up there with the newest of kits. Couldn't ask for more, except the cost - nowhere near the latest kits - an extra added bonus.
  23. Thanks Paul For me, nothing as relaxing and rewarding as spending time at the bench with a Tamiya kit and the Jug was all pure fun and satisfaction.
  24. Thanks John, very much appreciated - a fun and very rewarding build as compared to the Mini Art Jug.
