  1. Peter How can we tell you love doing cockpits? They are simply amazing.🏆
  2. Scott, that's strange then that the bleach only effected the seat but so lucky that was all. ☘️
  3. Carl Right with both Martin and Rob - what an improvement and the control surfaces look; oh so good. Some mighty fine scratch work for sure.
  4. Rob I'm with carl, in that I do love figures and they are always the missing touch, but my skills are really poor at best. If I could only get half as close to yours, I would be a happy camper.
  5. Scott, that was close one. Image what could have happened if you used it on the fuselage or wings?
  6. Mark Awesome start and I paid extra admission for a front and center seat; The 3D printed revetment walls look spot on the money.
  7. John Nice start on your Spit - and completely agree 100%. Nice to see the Northern African scheme. Nice going with the kits belts and harnesses, they look mighty good.
  8. Ralph, looking mighty good and I feel your pain; been there and done that.
  9. Rob, very much appreciate the comments on the Jug's paint scheme and markings. I'm pretty sure my sheet was an early one and the documentation while good, still left too much hunting for the builder to fill in the missing pieces. Glad your decal instructions are a lot more thorough and more builder friendly.
  10. Thanks, Paul very much appreciated. I switch paint schemes right in the middle of the build after Rob posted about the Thundercal Decals he was going to purchase and I found this set on their site. Went with it as it's so colorful.
  11. DECALS AND WHITE LEADING EDGES If ever there was a way to do things so out of order, I struck paydirt for sure. I struggled to mask out the white leading edges as I had already added the underwing pylons and had to ever so carefully mask around them. That will teach me NOT to change paint schemes in the middle of a build, without thinking things through. I’ve also mentioned before, Thundercal only provides just the left hand side view in the decal instructions and it would have been a HUGE help to have both the upper and underside views, so locating the white leading edge would have been a lot easier. The instructions do point out the end size but that is surely doing it the hard way. I found a few Jug builds that used the same decals and all added the white leading edge differently. The Jug had been glossed with Tamiya X22 and it was decal time. I noticed during airbrushing that in the left hand side view, the panel lines didn’t match the kit’s as accurately as I thought they should and using them for decal placement, slowed down the process as a lot of extra time was needed locate the markings correctly. The decal stage of the Jug build is done, panel line washes are next and then the decal seal coat and finally then semi flat finally coat. I can see the finish line not too many days away.
  12. Scott Sure, is a lot of rain. Up here on Long Island, we have also had an abnormal amount of rain as well, local flooding, especially on the south shore and water levels seem to be at an all-time high. Even the three ponds at my local Nature Center (two of which had been bone dry for years and the largest one nearly 75% drained) are now close to normal levels, never thought I would see them come back. Just glad you and your family are OK.
  13. Scott Nothing like being prepared. Other then the electric being out, is everything else OK?
  14. Carl Way to go! Removing and replacing the wing control surfaces was quite a job, including building in the airfoil shape - looks fantastic.
  15. John I'm still betting you will cross the finish line before I do.
  16. Martin Aces on a superb build and the mismatch on the cammo was a brilliant idea. The bae, wow, no that's something. I would somehow figure out how to display it so the signatures can also be seen.🏆
  17. John, Just knew you would blow right by me. Started decaling my Jug today after spending hours masking out the while leading edge - what a pain.
  18. John Terrific progress - looking mighty good.
  19. Rob Finally, your Magnetic Tumbler arrived and it's quite a machine. I would have thought the polishing steel pins would have been included but I'm wrong as usual. The inks seemed to be another new adventure to learn and use and the Meng Triplane - looking forward to following your build as I have the kit in the stash.
  20. John Awesome work - she is a beauty. 🏆
  21. Right with martin Super looking vignette .. terrific build.
  22. John Another beauty - another awesome P-39 for your collection. As always the finish you are able to achieve is perfect.🏆
  23. Hi Scott Yikes, a cool $1000 for adding shelving but you gained so much free space for display of your finished models. I have room to add two more shelves to my glass display case and am planning on going to my glass retailer to order the two shelves and then to my local hardware store for the four brackets. Hopefully, it will take a good while to fill up the shelve space with 48th scale kits. If I went with 32nd scale kits, the additional shelving would be used up way too fast and then I'm out of room.
  24. Carl Right with Martin, terrific progress and looking forward to each build update.
  25. Mark WOW, Fantastic build and a terrific vignette. So very well done. 🏆🏆🏆
