  1. John, looking mighty good - plug has completely vanished.
  2. Ralph I use when needed Vallejo Plastic Putty and it seems to work just as the other filler does. Who would have known.
  3. Martin All my online vendors were out of stock on it. Found a set on eBay and bought it. Should be here in about a week or so 🤞 My typing skills are going downhill as fast as my age is going uphill !
  4. Martin Thanks for the info and pics. I'll see if they are available from my normal vendors and hoping not to see: " Out of Stock" which is the norm these days.
  5. Thanks John. hoping for starting all the air brush work tomorrow after a scheduled procedure.
  6. Thanks, Rob much appreciated. I haven't decided about the MG barrels yet and there is a good chance I'll go with the Quickboost AM ones I used on my last Jug.
  7. Rob Looking forward to which prop you loke the best as well. Just rest up your back and don't overdo it.
  8. John Amazing progress as always. Looking forward to seeing the P-39 work her way through the painting and decaling stages of the build.
  9. Brad, right with Martin, terrific build. 🏆
  10. Rob Sorry to read about your back spasms and the past week, I've had the same - it's been years since I had these spasms but for whatever the reason, they just started again. Holy smokes, props look great and just love the effects from the AK weathering pencils. Comparing both props, I prefer the second one with the darker contrast and the AB clear red finish, as the laminations and grain show through for a more dramatic effect. 🏆
  11. READY FOR PRIMING Slow but steady progress with the following work completed: Assembled and glued up the fuselage with the lost panel lines restored. Wings were built up, needing a bit of tweaking to fit tightly up against the fuselage (most likely my doing). Wheel wells were painted MRP Yellow Zinc Chromate. The horizontal stabilizers were glued in place with only a quick swipe of Mr Surfacer needed. The Big P&W R2800 radial, nicely detailed for a 48th scale kit engine was assembled, painted and lastly both Tamiya Black and Dark Brown Panel Line Washes were used to bring out the details. The inside of the cowl and the air splitter plates were painted Alclad aluminum and not gray as per the instructions, as research showed. Last to be tackled was the front windscreen, canopy and glass armor plate with the addition of an Eduard mask set. Flaps are just being test fit. A lot of bench hours were devoted working towards priming and now it’s priming time, with MRP Gray Primer.
  12. Thank goodness I have no room to put the model when built and my biggest reason for not buying the kit. Space these days is a big concern on my modeling.
  13. Chris Yikes, close to a record for sure. Seems to be two types of builders on the forum: Those with neat clean benches throughout a build Those with just the opposite. We should have a forum pole as to who falls into which group.
  14. Ralph Hate to admit, but I never used it, just set in my ways at this stage of the game.
  15. John Right on the money but I hope no one thinks this is how we dressed
  16. Not sure but it was a style of a suit men wore in the 30's (?).
  17. John Great follow up build to your P-40. Looking forward to following and if I remember, all your SH P-39 builds start off by correcting the too short fuselage. Nice choice markings for sure.
  18. Thanks, Rob for the pricing and shipping information. Something to surely think about if spread out across a number of builds.
  19. Scott Awesome build and so glad you conquered all the obsticals Revell planted along the way. Brilliant build and finish. 🏆
  20. Scott Add me to the list - awesome build and she looks brilliant. 🏆
  21. Oliver, nothing like using photographs to zero in on the scenery and ground cover.
