  1. What's on my bench now is something I consider a philosophical victory. Yes, a Tamiya Mustang that's an easy build, but I see it as more. This is the first time I've ever modified a kit and scratch built parts. In the end it might not turn out the best, but to me it has become more about the journey than the destination. I am pursuing 2 new "skills" in scratch building and resin casting that I have given a wide berth until now. Getting over the fear of failure and pursuing my passion to a deeper level feels really good. I can honestly thank my friends here for the support, parts, and knowledge they continually share. So, what's on my bench? Fellowship, friends, passion, and self improvement. Its amazing what a little bit of plastic can do for a guy...
  2. Excellent! I know I had seen it at HL I just wasn't sure if that was a decent enough product to work.
  3. I need to duplicate a part I made. I've never dont it and dont know where to start. It's a simple shape and should be fairly easy. What do I need to order and where would be a good place to order it to make the mold and then make resin copies?
  4. No worries. Your good people and I'm more than happy to help with anything you need.
  5. You got it buddy. You need 8 or 4 for me and 4 for you?
  6. The next thing to solve is the spinner. I assume they increased the hole size to accommodate the larger prop?
  7. Cuffed, H model, and Bearcat. Think I'll try my first ever resin casting to get 4 "equal" props. I've added the clear acrylic rod for the bottom of the prop and for casting purposes.
  8. What say you oh modeling gods?
  9. I won't be in Chattanooga but I most certainly will make the 2020 show here in Texas.
  10. Doh! Remember kids, dont model and drink at the same time.
  11. Martin, you are the man.
  12. Excellent. I've got a plan in my mind for getting some even props.
  13. Guess I could use the Hamilton as a guide?
  14. This is exactly what I was about to ask! I'll shave off the tip........then she'll be perfect. Edit: That seems like A TON off the prop?
  15. Thanks to Mark, I've made a big stride in obtaining one of the signature pieces forthis build. She's got a front end now.
  16. I've been lucky thus far!
  17. I absolutely love what you're doing here Mark. Absolutely awesome work and fantastic problem solving.
  18. Did a quick fit, and no issues yet, not because I'm good but because I am using a Tamiya kit. I am enjoying the subtle differences this build portrays. Martin, I'm just going to live with the seat issue, don't tell anybody .
  19. Thanks Ernie. I haven't noticed it to this point but I will go back and verify if it needs attention or not.
  20. I guess you could call this a riveting update.....literally. Archer rivets showed up and I spent some time applying them and painting the rear section. Dont know how well they show in pictures, but I'm very pleased with them in person.
  21. I am going to rename this build the "LSM Rescued Mustang"
  22. 1/72 C-97? Thinking maybe the Berlin Airlift?
  23. Thanks Peter. Gotthe correct glare shield painted. I may hit it with some smoke to weather it a bit but I like the sun faded black look. Much better now I believe.
  24. Oh my, I think I found my next build?
