  1. We peak in the summer and winter at $350 a month. Normally around $200-$225. We did have a mild spring bill of $125 when we first moved in. I keep the thermostat on 69 during the summer. sq ft is right at 2200, but we also have a hot tub now. Last home was a different company with much higher rates. Our averaged bill was $350 a month. Sq ft there was about 3000
  2. Myself, I’m a mixed bag of nuts. I jump between jets and props, leaning heavy on jets but have no idea why. I like them all.
  3. Maybe it could be due to laws in Germany that a swastika cannot be posted, pictured, displayed anywhere and FB is used in Germany? Not defending the absurdity of denying history, I got to meet Anna Rosmus in a video production we did with her at work years ago. She’s a very interesting person and the move The Nasty Girl was about her. Wiki link on her
  4. It was mentioned on LSP today that the Kate will continue but as a multimedia kit under the HpH label, along with a B-26 Marauder and a few others down the road. The B-26 announcement made me happy.
  5. I cannot paint anything now without getting a stray cat hair or two somewhere on the model. 🥴
  6. No pics, but today my Squadron Tempest canopy arrived along with my long sought after F-35A Splinter masks and decals. Looks like I know what’s up next after the Sea Fury project.
  7. Isn’t that Operation Torch a highly sought after kit? Man, you stole that kit. I’d have been all over that one too.
  8. I know, 1/72. But it’s big. It’s the Concorde model. Thought about selling it, had a buyer after posting it up on another forum. As far as I knew it was all still NIB but just opened. That’s how I bought it. Decided to just do an inventory of parts. Discovered the canopy was missing. Like the bag was ripped open, snipped off the sprue and put back in the box. Funny thing is, saw one offered for sale on eBay as a parts box with the same part missing. Who needs all these 1/72 Concorde canopies? Withdrew the sale and contacted Heller since they were the last to produce the kit and asked to buy the part and gladly pay shipping. In full disclosure, my kit is an older Airfix. Same molds though. Never heard a response back. Sent another email back in December. Still ignored. Sent another last night after reading others have gotten parts after being persistent and bugging the crap out of them. So dug up my old email and resent it asking once again for assistance. I just got a reply! Said they will locate the part for me and get it sent to me. Sometime I guess one does have to squeak a lot to get some grease.
  9. Thanks Carl. I was feeling a little cocky after making those Tamiya gear fit the Revell Tomcat.
  10. Almost forgot, at the TE of the wing I had to cut the kits wing and make a filler. As you can see, wing is a little low in the back and I had to transition it into the fuselage.
  11. Now I did forget to get pics of how I mounted the gear. I’ll try to explain. Once the glue set up overnight on the pieces I added from the wheel housing, I cut a slot in the top and glued in a strip of Evergreen stock that would fit into the receiver holes for Paul’s gear. Epoxied that assembly into the wing.
  12. Well, I’m getting in deep building this and thought I’d post a few pics of what I’ve done. First off, Carl offered up a Fisher folded wing and I gratuitously jumped on that offer since the kits fixed wing’s airfoil is molded in upside down. Besides, always wanted to add a folded wing project to the display case. To start off, the very sparse cockpit wasn’t even wide enough to fit inside. I also cut the opening back about 3/16” and moved the headrest back as well. The wing arrived and I started carving away. Remember how the airfoil is upside down? That means the wing saddle is too flat for the Fisher wing to fit even after getting parts out of the way. This is after trimming everything. I filed the top of the wing some where it fits in the fuselage, but stopped when I realized I would be into the wheel wells if not careful. I built up the back of the “saddle” to fill the gap. In retrospect, I should have kept sanding into the fuselage just a little deeper. I was afraid if I went too far I would have ruined the only good kit parts that came in the box. Had a gap at the front I had to fill with Evergreen stock. Landing gear. Ugh….. Paul designed this wing correctly and even the Hobby Crap, err…Craft gear needed heavy modding. Way too short. I cut the receiver holes out of the kit wheel wells and glued them to the struts.
  13. Beautiful Kevin! Glad to see another brought back to life from the SOD.
  14. Anyone know what this small underwing thing is? This question is from a non-model related forum and lots of speculations. looks like a camera of some sort. “ From one article, A-1H of VA-25 is launched from USS Coral Sea (CVA-43) circa 1966.
  15. Eli should start a “Decal of the Month” club like RCA records did back in the ‘70’s where you got a new 8 Track or Cassette tape each month. I’d send in my penny to get the ball rolling!
  16. We need more like you!
  17. I really need to go visit Scotland. Wife wants to travel and Scotland has Scotch.
  18. Just ordered one. Thanks! I remembered you mentioned that to me the other day, but I was searching for the Special Hobby Tempest, not Revell Tempest. Edit to add….Turning out making the kit landing gear work on the Fisher wing is another ball of wax. LG are too short for the Fisher wing since his was designed to work with his gear or the G Factor for his kit which are beyond impossible to find. But I think I came up with a solution. I might have to just start a build thread since these tricks might help someone else some day.
  19. Wow! What a teaser. But it’s a sign fall is around the corner.
  20. Pretty much, yea. Prop/spinner is wayyy off, no cockpit to speak of, canopy misshapen. Im working on blending the bottom of the wing to the front and rear of the fuselage right now. I could only get the wing seated so high into the fuselage, and it’s still a bit low at the cowl and the trailing edge. Oh well, not putting it in any contests. FWIW, I cannot believe what people are asking for these kits on eBay. Collector value or not, it’s no where near a $200 kit.
  21. Just an update…. This was yesterday afternoon after a storm came through. I was on the mower at 8 am and finished edging and blowing by 10. It was too miserable to run the weedeater by then. Came in showered up, did some work at the bench and fell asleep in my chair after I closed my eyes “for just a few minutes “ Finished weedeating this am. Sitting here cooling down before the shower and the rest of the day is bench time!
