  1. Fantastic set of reference photos and this should be a joy to watch. I admire your choice for as you rightly pointed out, MOST folks are into the wartime version so this will be oh so bright !! Good luck with the conversion and the window filling . . . David
  2. . . . and I have just ordered mine :-)
  3. Excellent review I must say. Many thanks, I shall add it to my 'to have' list. David
  4. Do we only get one PHOTO ??
  5. Rather strange reply because you have given two lots of information for ME699 . . . KM-T and ZN-O ???????
  6. Cranky These are the details I have for ME648 . . . examination date April 1944. Lancaster Mk.1 Bomb-aimer blister, large with the '00' in the perspex Cockpit blister both sides Paddles bladed propellers New style pitot head No Rebecca aerial and No fuselage windows H2S fitted Window chute fitted I hope this helps David
  7. I don't intend to show the engines even though it will be displayed as an aircraft at dispersal.
  8. You are a star Bill, particularly helpful with the photo references. many thanks
  9. Bill Can you determine if the engine cowlings can be built up without the engines being assembled ? ie. still insert the propeller on a pivot thro the piece that goes at the front of the cowling ? ? David
  10. I think that that type of wing tip lights were not common. I have seen them ooccasionally on wartime Lancs but generally they are in the minority. This just proves the value of research into your particular Lancaster you wish to model. I am interested where 'Dark Victory' comes from i.e. Which Squadron ?
  11. For a wartime aircraft those external lights are wrong. Wartime aircraft only had One light contained within the clear wing tip(s) Red/Green to the front as ID and White lights at the rear for formation lights David
  12. This will be a first I think . . . . good luck with the conversion ! I have already ticked the 'Follow' button I used to live along the flight path into Scampton but back then it was the great noisy Vulcans of 617 Squadron David
  13. Wow a David Brown tractor !! that coupled with some bomb trolleys that are currently under consideration . . . that will be another £100 towards the completion of the Lancaster
  14. Dont forget that the MK.X had a different flight-engineers panel. AS its clearly seen through the cockpit this would need changing ???? Its clearly displayed in the Pilots & Flight Engineers Notes publication David
  15. Yrjo The chap who made the Dambuster set is here . . . http://www.iconicair.com/home/ You can use the 'Contact@ button/tab to get in touch and ask . . . David
  16. The Phantom is one of 'my' girls. Yes needle props, fuselage windows and a standard B/A blister. No H2s either IIRC. Is it the 100 Squadron or 550 version ?? I am not at home right now but will later post a profile and details if that is what you are after ?? David
  17. I do wonder how many mm difference there is between the two intake at this scale ? Anyhow, can we really have a Lancaster this big sat on display without something holding it back ?? Thought I would create these essential items, the 32nd figure gives some idea how large they need to be . . .
  18. This is the kinda thing I do . . . .
  19. I usually paint in sub-assemblies, I find its so much easier than the whole aircraft does anybody else ??
  20. Yes . . looks like the molding is slightly mis-shaped. Perhaps a little warming under the hair-dryer ???? And if you look at the photo of JJ . . .looks like them put to much glue around the panel does that mean I can get away with the same . . .
  21. I would say, looking at the alternate photos enough, you can see that Just Jane has a deeper aperture for her radiator(s) rather than the other two aircraft . . . . Must admit I dont know where you are coming from with this 'bulge in the lower front corner ' ??? As far as I am aware there shouldn't be a bulge in the engine cowling full stop . . . .
  22. I initially thought I would be able to polish them out but I have been duly informed that there actually 'holes' in the plastic . . . .
  23. Are you saying that spares are available ?? I know you had a replacement for the clear pieces but that was from the local stockist. I wonder if you could have got them replaced by HK themselves ??
  24. The two rings in the front nose blister indicate a later mark of IFF (Mk. III I think) IFF= Identification Friend or Foe David
  25. You will see the early shallow bomb-aimers blister here . . . https://www.ozatwar.com/ghistory.htm there were two later version of that blister to come . . . I hope this helps David
