I am planning to secure brass rods to white metal braces for my Mistel build. Any recommendations on a solder type that will secure brass to white metal? Thanks for any feedback.

Thanks Ben, much appreciated. Thank you! Thanks Matt. yeah on the weather and scheme correlation. even my kids noticed: "Daddy painted his plane for snow!" then asked when can we go sledding. Thanks Rieser Hey Mike. Happy you did not say: :Took you long enough!" Thanks for the kudos. Thanks Dennis, much appreciated.

thanks Paul. Yes it is, FSM showed a little love for my Rufe. Here is Rufe link in LSM Finished Work to see Work In Progress connect to the Facebook link. I really need to get the WIP for this bird on LSM.

Hi Mark. Thanks neighbor! Truly appreciate your kind words. FYI, your Hartmann build gave me plenty of inspiration. The Rufe is now demanding "STAR" treatment. Wants own display case with LED lighting and mirrors as well as extra copies for autographed handouts.

Bevan, After decals applied I gave the plane an overall coat of gloss varnish (Mr. Color Super Clear diluted 1:1). The national markings got an extra 3 or 4 passes. After a week cure I used Vallejo liquid mask on the national markings then applied the winter wash. Then peeled the mask away. Winter wash is easier than I imagined. Using Tamiya Flat White XF-1 diluted 30:70 with airbrush set at fine and PSI about 20 I gave each panel 3 or 4 passes. I painted over the stencils.

Despite all the angst this is really a nice kit with some great engineering work. A fun, sometimes challenging build. A few engineering decisions on Revell's part is questionable. The instruction callouts are hideous. Should hold its own against Hasegawa. Albeit, Revell missed an opportunity to knock this out of the ballpark. Indeed this kit is an After Market goldmine. I used a bunch of after market stuff: Barracuda Wheels Eduard Landing Gear Eduard IP HGW Belts QuickBoost Exhaust QuickBoost MG131 QuickBoost Revi 12 Gunsight EagleCals "The Blond Knight" Painted: Fuselage ID Band Lower Cowling ID Hungarian Theater Band on lower starboard wing I added: Wiring Looms in cockpit Pedal Straps Canopy Grab Handles Canopy Hinge Canopy Laynard FuG25a Antenna Rebuilt Rear Cockpit Bulkhead Drilled out Pitot Tube and AAG-16 Antenna and replaced with wire

Number one issue I need to work on is time management need to address how I spend my time and stick with a plan. Fine tune my multiple build technique. For 2014 - *nothing etched in stone with these. some will make it to the bench some will not. Hag - Fw190A8 Revell/AIMS - Ju88 Mistel 1 (match with above Fw190A8) Planet/Hag - Fw190C Hag - P47 "Slick Chick" - coming out of the bin as I have figured a solution to scratch build the M10 bazooka tubes *Hag - Shiden *MDC - Tiffy 1b *ZM - He219 *Tam - P51D Set up my photo table which means serious analysis of available space in Man-Cave and Garage.

Paulo, Thank you for the kind words. thanks WUMM. thank you Jonathan. Ah Erik, this is my 3rd attempt with a PE interior. The flaps are on deck an this may be my Albatross. I have this Batman vs Joker relationship with PE. I love the engineering and the detail it brings out. I hate some of the folds on insect size pieces. Learning through trial and error the best ways to secure PE (CA, Future, Gator Glue) has been incredible value. However, the more I work with PE and scratch work it truly becomes therapeutic in a solution solving, accomplishment kind of way.- 86 replies

Cleaning flash, etc on fuselage then this happens... Add colorful metaphor here ___________! Glued a piece of sheet styrene from inside with epoxy. Matching up will be time consuming, not difficult. Just PITA. I have a plan.....

Got some bench time in yesterday. Snow day today, kids home so zero bench time today. Pardon the dust. Tub primed with Mr. Surfacer 1500 Black. Bulkhead panels and side panels added. More fun with PE. Shown is starboard fuselage with PE parts added. Orginal kit dash cut away, PE dash replacement shown along with IP, pedals and canopy actuator. About 4 PE parts for port side of fuselage and the dashboard surgery then I will hit with primer and RLM66. Then begin the IP and belts. Close up show detail of map case. I added some styrene rods on transmission floor and lead wire for pedal links. Pedals and canopy actuator wheel assembly. Will do initial painting in the tub. Mount these and continue paint.- 86 replies

40" x 80" Photo Table. Decision is where to set up? ManCave/Bench or Garage? Either way will require significant rearranging. Going to unroll the plexi-glass to get it to "relax" before setting up.

Great stuff Dave. The WNW builds are beautiful. Wow! 7 builds in one year! Bravo!

really nice Mike. BTW - your 110 dropped it's DB. look forward to see your 2014 output.
