Yeah... happy birthday Ian and Brad... I think England may have sent the croquet team, not the cricket team....? This would explain the poor showing... Hope you got more than English decimation for your b'day.... Matt

Very nice Nick We could do with masks for the fuselage/wing centre 'lozenge'. I shall see if I can look up their sizes from somewhere... Matt

Someone did it on BM, I'm sure. He did masks for the painted lozenge... I'll have a look. Matt EDIT: Here you go... lovely build... http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234948698-132-hannover-clii-pheon-decals/?hl=%2Bwnw+%2Bhannover

An epic undertaking! It looks like fit is not giving any problems. I recall the PMM website basically concluded that Trumpy trounced Dragon with both the Morser and the Leopold rail gun. I have the Leopold in a half built (I bought it that way) and then half (quarter?) dismantled state. Maybe I should dig it out...? Matt

Looks good to me... I like the way you've captured the plank splicing. Matt

Wingnut Wings WNW Mercedes D.IIIa "The Engine"
Matt_ replied to Umlaufmotor's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Beautiful work Bertl Those resin nuts and bolts are fantastic. I was looking at their website to see if they did wing nuts... alas no, but they do a massive range of nuts and bolts, even castellated ones... I have a couple of sets of Calibre 35 resin nuts and bolts but they seem to have stopped making them Love the work you're doing... most of it would be hidden on a mounted engine, but the valve springs etc will be worth considering on my Roland... Keep it coming Matt -
Joe I find that being both a slow builder (some would say glacial) and alternating between the peaks and troughs of 'this build is crap' and 'this build is actually looking OK', I get disheartened easily and often put a build aside and became distracted. For my current build I have forced myself to stick with it and I find that after 5 minutes back with it I am again immersed in the build. What I'm saying is that your illness and the effects of medication can set up a 'negative attitude' and it takes a little conscious effort and self belief to get back into the state of mind that led you to get the kit and all the accessories. That's certainly what I find from time to time. Matt

Very well done wood finish there... Waiting for more... Matt -
WW1 footage by Anthony Fokker... quite remarkable...
Matt_ replied to Matt_'s topic in WW1 Reference Material
I was surprised at how mucky the aircraft looked...Even Voss' F1, which you'd think would receive high levels of maintenance looks quite stained. I think I am most interested in the shots of the airfields, the tent style hangars and general look of the places.... very useful.. Matt -
OK, just found this mentioned on another site and thought it'd be appreciated here. Lots of atmospheric footage, much detail for the setting of the Jastas.. http://www.ushmm.org/online/film/search/result.php?FilmVideo__StartDoc=1&FilmVideo__sort=score&FilmVideo__search_type=simple&FilmVideo__Query=fokker&FilmVideo__is_digitized_cb_1=&FilmVideo__is_digitized_cb_0=true Hope you enjoy. Excellent images. The lighting has brought out a lot of not normally seen details like the weld beads etc... Thanks for posting Matt -

Did they use these guns, or are they just war booty being taken from the front? I've seen US marked Hanomags and a Panzer III, so I don't doubt equipment was used if functional and with enough ammo to be useful...? Matt -

Not a bad model is it, Kevin... I've got one of these sat on the back of a SWS half track and with an AM barrel it doesn't look bad. Matt -
Tamiya tape at home - almost more important as toilet paper....

Like that clamp a lot.... Matt -
Some very interesting stuff in there...! The 'Evidence in Camera' reports found near the bottom of the list (where it becomes two columns) have some great PR images from the Second World War.. Matt

Hi Jim I've never used an Optivisor, but have a generic optivisor type head worn magnifier. All I can say is that it does the job. Mine came with a set of four plastic magnifying lenses which clip into place (two can be used together to give extra magnification). It isn't exactly stylish and the headband is plastic/vinyl that needs a piece of cloth or the like wrapping around it to stop your head sweating (urgghh). It has a small LED which does cast a little light, but best used in conjunction with a lamp. Works for me... wear it almost all the time for modelling... Matt

I'm with James on the wiring Bertl. It looks very tidy and orderly in your photo, something I'd like to emulate. Matt

I think they were visual access to the control mechanism. Image from handbook shows what is routed beneath the seat... Hope that helps Matt

Blimey...! You're on a run all right Tom... You're cantering through this faster than most would an injection moulded kit... Matt -
Nice to see this kit built. Looks like an excellent clean build.. More pics please.. Matt

1/32 Rocket Science: Me 163 (Meng)
Matt_ replied to JeroenPeters's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
There's a well known shot of a blown up Komet with a red spinner to the generator prop. The image, though of grotty quality up close, seems to show dark green blades. I wouldn't put it past the RLM to expect these to be treated the same as any other prop - RLM 70.. but who knows? Could all the upper surface/tail and that bit of airbrushing along a panel line be of RAE origin? As this was being flown, they'd make sure it was nicely done up. Really one of the nicest renditions of an RAF painted Luftwaffe aircraft I've seen. Matt -
Excellent tutorial again Bertl... Matt

Ah... a teacher... so you'll also have a huge resource of patience... Well, I have a sort of started ID/Tigger Me 263 somewhere... maybe I should get it out again... Matt
