This was what I planned on building till I got carried away with tanks .. I have two boxings , Eduard Weekend (no PE) and Roden ..from my earlier burst of biplane building in January. Both have marking for planes in Palestine. I'm going Eduard for this one . It's the same one as Mikes marvellous 1/32 build ...this will not be so marvellous and also my first 4 bay biplane . So it could go well or terrible , who knows . I do have Mikes amazing 170 page build log/notes to help me .

100% agree , my recent U-boat was entirely inspired by another's model (Scott Withers 'Drowning Wolf' in 2017) , even posted his original in my build. Hmm two 129s ..poor Mike !

I'd go for "inspired by" rather than trying for a 1:48 replica of a photo , it's a real rabbit hole going down that route in my experience. Hamster bathing sand is about as fine a sand as there is easily available , not sure for 1/48 but will do a trial and report back

Come to a short stop . Decided to buy some nice resin M51 stowage from John at GaiJin in Cornwall ....and it will be about 2 weeks before it arrives ..so my plan to roll straight into paint has been put back as I'd rather glue all the stowage on before painting ;- it falls of the paint otherwise . Slightly annoying but as I hadn't planned to enter this model , anyhoo . Will give me time to get some diorama ideas together , although IDF figures seem short on the ground . Kurt inspects the progress of "Mr Inadequate" ....last time he saw a barrel that long was on his old King Tiger. Ho hum .

Bet 'The Wire' is on that list lol . Half way through Season 4 , where Furio gets all mooney over Carmella Done the whole series a few times , it is one of the all time best series . Still feels odd it's 25 years old now , I remember watching it coming out . It's aged well IMHO

Sadly I've been using more and more aftermaket bang seats for much the same reason .

Other recent Tamiya fudge is solid hatch handles , they use to do them separate , but easy to replace with bent 0.5mm wire. Will be fine under paint . Stuff like this puts the old Jap favourite in Division 3 for me these days . Nearing completion of the build , now off to watch the Sopranos with Mrs Womble ! Laterz PW

Moving on ...lower hull done , turret done , just finishing upper hull . Typical Tamiya no engine bay , just a void so use some mesh just to give it a feel . Holes on Deck Brass mesh Will paint it all black in bay so will pass casual inspection

Zoom Zoom , typical Tamiya , perfect fit , soft detail , not many parts ! It'll all be in the paint . 1/3 way built in one session . This tank is all about that 105 ! RUN OUT OF AMMO??? I 'LL CLUB YER TO DEATH !!! More another day

Used to keep stuff , then throw it away later ...now I skip stage 1 and most goes to bin at the end of a build I do keep track links if they are good though , although have occasionally sold of bulk loads of plastic links as I move towards Fruils more. I keep decals for a while, even though I can make my own or make masks on the silhouette ...probably just as pointless. Since I sell 85% of what I make , and don't like building the same model* over and over it makes sense not to keep too much stuff on top of all the diorama making materials I hold. * mostly true but is that a nice new Panther over there?

Anyhoo the main event is ...my first ever 1/35 Sherman .... Shame on you Tamiya ....wubber twacks in 2012 ....oh dear ... And I may do a lil dio for it to sit on ... Laterz PW
