  1. Cheer Carl I brush the wheels after base colour but before the tracks go on ( although have done that as well when using individual links ) If you look closely you'll see the inner rubber tyres are mostly unpainted ....but you don't notice when you look at it. My style is "glue everything together as much as you can and then paint" . It's partly where I come apart with aircraft because I have to plan it far more..even worse with ships . @HubertB @CANicoll @Peterpools @belugawhaleman Thanks for the encouraging comments fellas .
  2. Going to be big when it's done . I've avoided helicopters bigger than 1/72 up to now ...hopefully I'll get some inspiration from your build to face up to my rotorphobia PS I've built a few MENG models , poor fit is something they don't have issues with IMHO .
  3. He was always Admiral Greer to me as well. Such a great actor, also played the sorcerer in Conan ....so much good stuff .
  4. Love this one Hubert , your absolutely crazy but thats all good ! I so do not want to go down the route of 3D parts, getting to grips with the Silhouette cutter was.... traumatic.
  5. Always a bit crazy to me that Trevithick was a Cornish miner at heart, and took the concept of a beam engine out of a mine to create the world's first locomotive. People remember Stephenson's Rocket, but this was the first. Nice little model some scope for more detailing as well , nice one Kriss
  6. Calling this one done . Didn't reckon much to the in-box figures , so will leave any dio to another day when /I can find some nicer resin offerings . Plus I'd like to finish my Brizzol . M51 1967 Six Day War . Cheerz PW
  7. Keeps the riff raff and curious neighbours out I guess ......is the sound deadening going well ? Nice gravy room BTW
  8. Marketing…..12 versions …..more sales to those who just have to have them all . all this first batch/ middle prod /end prod /1946 is the same , range extension at low cost , the Hasegawa syndrome my cynicism aside there are variants in production esp during war but I wouldn’t trust Chinese manufacturers to have done much real research, Eduard tend to be quite creative/ imaginative as well imho
  9. Just needs a figure with a stovepipe hat
  10. @JohnB Various LW colour mixes gleaned from various forums that I have compiled. Hope it helps . lufty colours.pdflufty colours.pdf
  11. @Martinnfb Thanks for the pics my friend , FYI some are Six Day War ...some Yom Kippur .. I've gone 1967 as they were still mostly "light sand" ...IDF turned into "grey desert" in the early 1970s , although apart from where they mounted some of the accessories there's not a lot in it . They palmed the M51s off on the Lebanese Militias in the 1980s ..who did this with them , although god knows how old 1940's homogenous armour coped with RPG-7 Rounds ....probably why they were cast.
  12. That looks a really great trip . One for when I retire I reckon Did you ask them about making any new 1/32 aircraft, apparently there's a whole forum dedicated to "wishing new ones into existence", but like the fairies.... they remain illusive. 🀣
  13. Cat's .........so much nicer than people πŸ˜€
  14. Sh't , thats a heavy deal Scott . I'm sorry to hear that . I guess going to be a lot of feet up in the future , but at least they think they can fix the problems for you , rather than leave you in pain .
  15. Lovely cats ! Esp love Ginger Ninjas πŸ˜€ There appears to be three cats in that last pic?
  16. Just a thought , why not go down a Mad Max or other Sci fi route and use what you made , rather than get too hung up on the accuracy . It looked a fun build to me , and shame to park it ?
  17. Tamiya HQ eh , Im very jealous . Did you wear a Hasegawa T Shirt ?😝
  18. 3 decals ( god.... I love armour for that ) .....and a bunch of painting using Vallejo paints and a wet pallette. And draw the session to a close with my favourite matt varnish ...a recommend from Alexander Pedan who makes great trucks So a good evening , we are now ready to start the weathering , finish the tracks, build some figures and complete the model , before moving onto a small dio . A shot for the 1967 Six Day War .. Laterz PW
  19. so , mix by eye Light Sand ....its been faded a bit , mix of XF s and some wet brush chipping one heavy travelled areas . Not gone too mad , Israelis looked after their tanks as valuble kit .
  20. Ok ex factory these came in OD ...so OD it is . Followed by the best hairspray for chipping as recommend by Evan at Panzermeister36 ... Which os still a dark base , but authentic colour and only there for some light chipping later
  21. So now according to Martin Kovacs it all get black based Nope , as much as I like his work I find this , followed by light shade from up top and below with a darker coat ....a bit cliched in 2024 ..and results in all your models looking like Uncle Nightshifts ... So generic grey primer, good coverage and slightly textured, plus good for mixed media -some of the parts are copper sheet replacement ..sticks ot it all
  22. Back on the road .. today my stowage arrived , lotsa it . Appears to be a copy of the Legend Productions set , which is a little disappointing to find it's a knock off. Last stuff I bought was original work . Cleaned it all up and affixed with heavy viscosity superglue . Remembered to wear a mask when grinding it all clean
