  1. Ok, some good news and some set back. First of all I managed to screw up the shaft. Or shaft the shaft in proper english. I got some paint on it (the unwanted kind) and dipped it in aceton. This caused the parts to become... rubber! Mailed Silver Wings and a new one is already on the way! But this weekend i did manage to mask and fit the canopy and add the wheels: But then I noticed an error I made. So be wary of following my lead. The instructions tell you to make the upper cockpit framing all with tubing. 6 tubes going up and one small horizontal one connecting them. Like so: However, the only tubes you need to make are the two 90 degree vertical ones behind the seat and the two 30 degree ones going back down, making an inverted V. The other tubes are integral part of the canopy clear part! So I removed them (while the canopy was glued) and fixed it. Pretty happy with my handiwork:
  2. Ha! Cool! Why not post a photo of your finished model?!
  3. It reminds me of the Taurus engine i tried to fit in the WnW cowling of the Fokker E.III. It's an easy fix. Just a little work to make it look ok.
  4. Ok. Meeting some resistance. The engine is slightly too big in diameter for the cowling. So I sanded away the connection rim inside the cowling and sanded the entire cowling way thinner all around. And now it fits! What you see here are 5 parts: And added the second wing too: So far it's a pretty smooth ride! Cheers, Jeroen
  5. Great start! Might have to get me one of these one day...
  6. Super cool banners Laurent! You've got some talent!
  7. Thnx Marcel, The fuselage is closed and the radio sits pretty deep in the rear fuselage, making only the fronts of the radio's visible. In the meanwhile i finished building the Bristol Mercury engine:
  8. Oh lord... I've seen your build on Facebook, but these larger pics really do it justice. That is one sweet Mig! It's actually a pretty good kit. Good fit and pretty detailed and correct from the box. Love to see some washes on it!
  9. I use Cinema 3D and have ordered form Shapeways before. Excellent service. I can model most of the shapes I need, but am planning on doing an additional course soon..
  10. Just kidding. Serious question: do the decals for the stomach go over the textured part? And another one: Are you going to remove the gold and spray your own?
  11. Really cool! But i just think 175 pounds is a bit steep for a kit like this...
  12. Started some detail painting in the pit and added control cables coming from the control stick. Also wood painted the floor boards and used masking tape for the rudder pedal straps. This is how the cables were attached (so i need two more on the bottom):
  13. Yeah... read up on it this morning... Pretty cool stuff. On one hand you'd love to bring them up and put them on display. On the other hand you don't want to disturb the wildlife that took over...
  14. Hi Wouter, I might start on the Bristol Mercury this weekend. I'm not planning on adding tons of detail, since i want to finish both the mosquito and D21 for Telford...
