Infinity Models SB2C-4 Helldiver. Finished. Well, OK, maybe not.

Looking great Ernie!  I like the version you are doing, compared to the other in that kit which is all one color minus the markings.  I have the Pro Modeler 1/48 kit in the stash (two actually) and your scheme was what I was envisioning for one of them.

I see Infinity also has a separate boxing for the Atlantic scheme.

Yes, that’s the scheme I actually prefer. I wonder if I should stop, reverse course, and do that instead.

Ernie

Nice going on the cammo and looking so good.

I'm a conservative guy and on the opposite side of the cammo fence and really do like the tri color Pacific Theatre paint schemes. I rarely almost never think of the Atlantic color cammo schemes for USN aircraft, as for me, they made their mark in history in the pacific.

I’m no fan of WW2 USN Pacific schemes.

Booooring!

It's one of the reasons I have so little USN now go to the Army in the S.Pacific it's a whole other ball game if I may say.;)

Fully agree and I would think the USN ops in the Atlantic Theater was mainly convoy patrol and submarine hunting.

Same as we saw little no Canadians flying in the South Pacific in 1944, (except those in Navy and Marine cockpits). Haha. But when I think “Atlantic 1944”, I think white and grey Liberators on 9 hour patrols at 200 ft.

I will. #2 is going to be all closed up, but with folded wings.

Good idea - now you don't have to choose :)  Funny, I first added a Pro Modeler 1/48 Helldiver to the stash a while back, and then couldn't decide on the camo scheme.  Then I found a second one on eBay for a great price pimped out with a ton of AM goodies (sold by someone 15 minutes away so I didn't have to pay for shipping), so I picked that one out as well so I can make one Atlantic, and one Pacific, and will do one closed up with folded wings also.  Come to think of it, I ended up in the same boat with the 1/48 Accurate Miniatures Avenger and have two complete kits/AM sets for the two camo schemes - was going to start them after finishing my Wildcat and Buffalo, but they will move down the queue so I can work on the GB.

I have a few Dauntlesses in the stash as well, as well as a couple Wildcats and Kingfishers, and an Avenger.  I wanted the big Curtiss to be my first of the two seaters.

Of course you’ve seen the birdcage and Buffalo.

Interesting talk about the appeal of Atlantic vs Pacific camo schemes.

The tri-colour has always held an appeal for me especially compared to the overall GSB later in the war.

At the same time, the white and grey Atlantic scenes carries a similar level of interest.

Then you have the RN Temperate Sea Scheme...

Smitty had cautioned me regarding the Infinity decals that they are very thin and can tear easily if you’re not careful. BUT, they cover beautifully.

I agree 100%, although much of my markings will be masked and painted, it’s still good to know.

That's looking really sweet Ernie - excellent job!!  Quite big too, I think I'll stick with my 1/48 Pro Modeler kits!  I'm in negotiations with SWMBO as to what kind of display case I can buy, so smaller the model the better at this point (though the stash would look smaller if I worked on those in the biggest boxes first).
