denders Posted February 2, 2023 Author Posted February 2, 2023 Well, the fuselage is closed up and the wings and tail surfaces are on. The flaps and ailerons will have to wait 'til I've finished the filling and sanding. The wing to fuselage isn't perfect but it could be a lot worse. A little plastic card, a little filler, and make sure I don't fill the seam on the top and bottom of the rear fuselage. The top and bottom of the nose do need to be smooth. 8
Peterpools Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 Dave Very nice progress and the 108 looks mighty good all closed up. 1
denders Posted March 2, 2023 Author Posted March 2, 2023 Not a lot of progress, the wing/fuselage joints were a little more than I was anticipating, but it's now ready for paint. The propeller did get some work. 7
KevinM Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 Dave is the prop painted or the decal for the wood grain?Looks very Nice and Convincing. 2 1
denders Posted March 5, 2023 Author Posted March 5, 2023 The prop is painted except for the logo. I painted a tan color, then used a darker brown oil that I used a fan brush to spread out to look like the wood grain, and then some Tamiya clear orange on top. Than the black-green. 3

Well you did very well on this one.I use the same method just not always with success. 2 1
belugawhaleman Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Great work so far! The wood grain on the prop looks excellent! 2 1
denders Posted March 8, 2023 Author Posted March 8, 2023 Well, another step done. I need to put one of the aileron balances back, I managed to knock it off. The wheel wells need RLM02 and the far side of the rudder needs a little touchup. 6
Peterpools Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Very nice progress - paint and decals are looking good. 1
denders Posted March 9, 2023 Author Posted March 9, 2023 Thanks Peter. Those aren't decals, they're painted using masks cut on a Cameo 4. 2
GazzaS Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Nice progress, and those markings look wonderfully precise. Yeah... Willy and his horn braces! As a long-time 109 builder, I've learned to put those on dead last. 2

denders Posted March 18, 2023 Author Posted March 18, 2023 It's getting closer. It just needs the landing light, nav lights, radio antenna, and hand holds. 3 1
denders Posted March 18, 2023 Author Posted March 18, 2023 Okay, all those little bits are in place. The nav lights are really tiny 🤪. We have commitments the next two weeks, I'll put together some better photos then. Thanks for looking. And, thanks Peter. 4
denders Posted March 19, 2023 Author Posted March 19, 2023 Thanks, guys! No, no curtains, it leaves more room to look inside. 😀 3
