Administrators Clunkmeister Posted February 13, 2023 Administrators Share Posted February 13, 2023 A close friend gave me this and asked me to build his Dad’s plane, so once I’m done my present builds, I’ll knock this out, assuming I can locate a suitable Elektron Microscope suitable for viewing the subject 7
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted February 13, 2023 Author Administrators Share Posted February 13, 2023 Has anyone ever built this kit? I looked at it last night, and the moldings don’t look too bad. I’m just not used to the super tiny parts and lack of detail that seems to exist in 72 scale.

Administrators Clunkmeister Posted March 15, 2023 Author Administrators Share Posted March 15, 2023 This might be a bit of a challenge. I don’t think I’ve ever built this small before, and I’ll need to get magnifiers for my Optivisor. I’m unsure what to do here. 2
PanzerWomble
I think at 1/72 it’s mainly about the paint rather than the details as most of the details are just bumps unless you want to go nuts, well that’s my take . nb having sold off any 1/72 i owned last year as decided never again 3
DocRob
Just do it Ernie, it's good to do something different from time to time, helps to be alive modeling wise. I have only a few 1/72 kits, but one, I'm especially looking forward to, is the Special Hobby late Helldiver with an Eduard Big Set, with flaps and all. I know, it will be crazy, but hey, a world without crazyness would be boring. Cheers Rob
Peterpools
Ernie Go for it. They 1/72 is the most popular scale worldwide and I don't doubt it. I've seen all sorts of incredible builds in this scale - both highly detailed and OOB. Just go for an OOB with a great finish and it will be a gem.
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted March 15, 2023 Author Administrators Share Posted March 15, 2023 Thanks guys. I liter.ly can’t see it hardly at all. 🤣. The good news is that it’s a Sword kit, so that means good detail and decent Czech short run plastic. Everything seems to fit when doing the tape test. No seatbelts in the kit at all.
HubertB
A few years ago, I participated in a « Matchbox » buddy build challenge. I chose the (1/72, ot course Boeing P-12 E, which was one of Matchbox’ s best. I couldn't help to add detailing to the cockpit, but, gawd, was it tiny, and the rigging unnerving Hubert 2
