Thanks for posting the photo - absolutely gorgeous.

The kit does does with the hardtop and most likely I'll paint and finish it and keep it next to the T Bird in the display case.

Could be said any better and how true. When you're ready jump in and join the party. Any thoughts of what you might want to build?

Have to plead my case. For me, it's all about scale and 1/25 - 1/24 is a large scale. I know what is considered large scale does vary from the class of model being built - but there is so much more available in the popular car scale. Maybe we just should look at it another way the other way for a GB and say as long as the figures are large scale, it's good to go.

Of course, Ernie will have the final say.

Peter, come to think of it, YOU’D look real good in a 1:1 scale T-Bird. They’ve come WAY down in value these last few years

Thanks Ernie, one of the best compliments I've ever gotten. Just too bad, at this stage of the game I'm a happy camper when I get up in the morning and nothing new hurst. 😉

HI Jeff

Thank you for the offer down the road when I build the Vette. The Sunfire yellow I purchased from Gravity Paints (Spain) does show the correct body style Vette on the label and is listed for the "67 model. I doubled checked my references and yes the correct code for the "67 model is: Sunfire yellow 984. I should be good to go down the road.

I knew you were a stickler for details. Sounds like that is just about as perfect as you can find. I forgot about Gravity paints I was thinking of Scale Finishes. So your roadster will be dead on. When I built mine I found I had to re work the front windshield frame a bit for a better fit. But I’m sure you will see what it needs and it will be a show stopper when done.

Getting there slowly but surely.  Finally, very close to the painting stages as I've finished cleaning and prepping all the parts.

I only wish but being a senior and two cars already, as wonderful and understanding as my wife is, preserving the peace takes precedence. 😉

Hi Jeff

I've started the paint work but haven't gotten far as my wife and I have what seems like an endless stream of doctor appointments that need to be taken care of. Just so much fun getting old.

My brother and I many decades ago where very heavily involved in IPMS and all the yearly competitions for many years and well over three decades ago, we decided enough and pursued other hobbies. Since being back into modeling for the past 10 plus years, all my work has been displayed on either LSM or LSP.

In March of 2024, the IPMS regional Competition is going to be held here on Long Island and we decided not only to go, but to enter the competition. Nothing I've built was done to 'contest standards' and we decided to stop what we have been working on, pack up everything, clear the bench and get to work building two contest models. So, for now, until my entries are completed, all my present builds are on hold.

All right Peter, a late call for competition to fire the engine, I have to admit, I never took part in a modeling competition and I guess, it must be an interesting experience. I share my builds only with you here on LSM and over on MSW and I'm my most feared competitor myself.
I wish you luck, not only with the competition model, which I hope you will share with us, but also for your and your wives health.

Cheers Rob

Thanks Rob

Contests are just another way to share and enjoy the hobby. My brother and I often wondered how we would do at our age in competition, not to mention how vastly the hobby has also changed in the near 40 years we haven't competed. Finding an IPMS competition here on the Island isn't easy and neither of us wanted to drive to New Jersey or upstate. So this is the perfect opportunity. Win, lose or draw, will be a fun day, seeing all the builds up close and personal and visiting the venders.
