First try to replicate castseam. Is this too extreme? Should i make this thinner?

Please comment.

I reckon that looks pretty good, scale is right………still can’t get over the lack of detail you get at this scale. This going to look amazing when you have added your magic……

Thank you for your kind words. I altered castseam slightly. Transition from seam to turret was too prominent. I used blunt needle to form edge even more.

I will post end result tomorrow 🙂

I made some castseams thinner and added missing weldseam to handles. It is no means perfect but i can live with that.

It is difficult to find good reference images because there were several factories involved of making these beasts. So castseams vary from factory to factory and also when there were made. End of the war turrets were hastily put together and only essential work steps were completed. Also cracks from turret casting were ignored and send to front. There is fine examples of this on MR Hewes youtube video when they aqua blast turret they find massive crack. So massive than you can see daylight through.

I thought that the track assembly would be easy...just add 35+35 links with pins.

I was wrong. Tracks are well detailed and correct style, but riddled with pinmarks.

I used mr surfacer 500 to fill up those holes. Then roughen up the surface with wirebrush and brite. Only primerpaint will tell if this succeeded or not.
