Administrators Clunkmeister Posted April 8, 2024 Author Administrators Posted April 8, 2024 Kinda looks like it had a fire onboard. 2
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted April 8, 2024 Author Administrators Posted April 8, 2024 But fear not, a touch of water and alcohol washed away our sins… Starging afresh. Well now let this sit overnight and re-examine it tomorrow evening. If I like it, we’ll seal it, then round the edges and give it a bit of depth. Earlier today, I mixed up some ANA 606 semi gloss sea blue for leading edges and such using Sea Blue XF-17, Flat Blue XF-8, Neutral Grey XF-53, and Gloss clear in the Tamiya range… 9
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted April 8, 2024 Author Administrators Posted April 8, 2024 There is plenty of pastel in the gun opening which will simply blow away tomorrow 4
Peterpools Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Ernie Looking mighty good and surely looks the part. 3 1
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted April 11, 2024 Author Administrators Posted April 11, 2024 Cut out the sliding side glass. A bit of a job, but then I polished it and dipped it for that perfect clear look. 8 1
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted April 11, 2024 Author Administrators Posted April 11, 2024 Rear fuselage is looking just great. 7 1
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted April 11, 2024 Author Administrators Posted April 11, 2024 And the wings now wait their turn to get tore up. Crazy how newly sprayed Non Spec Sea Blue looks compared to the top of the fuselage. 8

Peterpools Posted April 11, 2024 Posted April 11, 2024 Ernie Nice work on cutting out the canopy window - delicate for sure. 4
Martinnfb Posted April 11, 2024 Posted April 11, 2024 Holy smokes, that's pretty sharp, I love details like that, tropical heat, coral dust and burned gun powder just radiates from every picture. 4
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted April 13, 2024 Author Administrators Posted April 13, 2024 I guess I should have opened this. maybe I still should. 6
BlrwestSiR Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 Looks great Ernie. The open cockpit window is a very nice touch. 4

Thanks Carl! Now I just need to learn to attach, mask and fill canopy before painting. Less seam work that way… 4
Peterpools Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 Ernie Super work on the canopy, as it looks so good with the open windows. 4
KevinM Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 Ernie you are doing a bang up job on this one but then again you seem to have the PTO weathering down pretty well of late. 3 1

On a PTO kick lately, and I expect it’ll continue…. I love the twin engined mayhem distributors. I’m thinking a J version with the 345th BG might be in the works. tons of amazing nose art for these. Almost as good as the B-24s 6

They had such a variety of nose art and more painted on their planes. 3

The 45th pretty much not only invented, but perfected the tactic of low level B-25 operations, to devastating effect. 3
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted May 2, 2024 Author Administrators Posted May 2, 2024 It’s a slow, slow process. 7 1
