JohnB Posted March 10, 2024 Posted March 10, 2024 I think I'll jump in on this GB and build a 1/48 Mosquito NF. I've had the kit on the shelf for a good while so now is a good time to build it. I intend for it to be essentially OOB using kit decals, etc. 8
Peterpools Posted March 11, 2024 Posted March 11, 2024 John Welcome aboard ... perfect entry for the GB. 5
Jeff Posted March 11, 2024 Posted March 11, 2024 Oh boy. A Mossie ! I’m in , John. One of my top fav’s. But the Boffins certainly ruined the beautiful lines by adding the big ‘knob’ up front. I get it, but still….. anyway that part is inconsequential to this build. As usual it will be top drawer. I’m looking forward to this….. Jeff 4

Undecided right now on which one. 🙄 I hope it turns out well! 4
Martinnfb Posted March 11, 2024 Posted March 11, 2024 Nice choice John, this will be exciting to follow. Cheers Martin 3

PanzerWomble Posted March 11, 2024 Posted March 11, 2024 It's a good kit with no real vices . I found the canopy needed a bit of extra "fitting" on the one I did last month , other than that typical Tammy offering . 7

belugawhaleman Posted March 12, 2024 Posted March 12, 2024 I also have one of the 48th Tamiya Mosquitos in my stash. I didn't know about this variant...I'll be watching. 5
Peterpools Posted March 13, 2024 Posted March 13, 2024 John Amazing progress and I'm betting: last to the part and first to cross the finish line! 4

JohnB Posted March 14, 2024 Author Posted March 14, 2024 I just ordered the Aires bomb bay set from SB. Hope it arrives post haste! 6
Martinnfb Posted March 15, 2024 Posted March 15, 2024 Nice progress John. With that Aries set , this is going to be really sweet build, can't wait for the update . 3

I've set it aside for the moment since to continue I'll need to have the set. It's been shipped so I hope it shows up Saturday 🤞. 3

I have ALWAYS have had to wait AT LEAST a month for anything I have ordered, even if it is ordered within Canada. 🙄 Jeff 2

Jeff Posted March 15, 2024 Posted March 15, 2024 Just now, JohnB said: Now THAT just WOULD NOT DO!! Why so slow Jeff? Just seems that’s the way it is. It has been like that here forever. I live in a small town 35 miles north of the U.S. border and half way between Vancouver BC and Calgary Alberta. Not like we are way off the beaten track. I have never got an order in less than at 3 to 4 weeks. Usually between 4 and 6 weeks. 2

Jeff Posted March 15, 2024 Posted March 15, 2024 Thanks, John.... it sure can be painful sometimes... 1
belugawhaleman Posted March 15, 2024 Posted March 15, 2024 1 hour ago, Jeff said: Thanks, John.... it sure can be painful sometimes... Sad to hear that. The mail here is pretty quick. Even orders from Australia get here within a week. It's amazing, considering the mail service is government run. 2
Peterpools Posted March 15, 2024 Posted March 15, 2024 John Going to be a terrific upgrade to the kit and I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes, as I have the kit and would want to add it as well. 3
Peterpools Posted March 15, 2024 Posted March 15, 2024 3 hours ago, Jeff said: Thanks, John.... it sure can be painful sometimes... Jeff What happens if you use FedEx or does that just make the order/items way to expensive? I'm willing to bet your normal monthly bills arrive right on time 😉 2

Now back to the Mosquito operation... looking forward to the next update installment, John..... Jeff 1
JohnB Posted March 17, 2024 Author Posted March 17, 2024 I decided to go ahead and do the medium sea grey/dk. green camo using Xtracolor paints. Good paint I must say. Now, if the bomb bay set shows up tomorrow I'll be ready to get it installed, etc. By the way, the wings are just temporarily in place with no glue whatsoever. I wish all my builds fit this good! 4
