Tamiya 1/48 Mosquito Night Fighter

Recommended Posts

I think I'll jump in on this GB and build a 1/48 Mosquito NF. I've had the kit on the shelf for a good while so now is a good time to build it. I intend for it to be essentially OOB using kit decals, etc.

Oh boy. A Mossie ! I’m in , John. One of my top fav’s. But the Boffins certainly ruined the beautiful lines by adding the big ‘knob’ up front. I get it, but still….. anyway that part is inconsequential to this build. As usual it will be top drawer.  I’m looking forward to this…..

Being a Tamiya kit I figure everything will fit, etc. :) My intention is to build one of the markings included in the kit. Undecided right now on which one. 🙄 I hope it turns out well!

Thanks Martin. I'll try to do it justice. :)

It's a good kit with no real vices .

I found the canopy needed a bit of extra "fitting" on the one I did last month , other than that typical Tammy offering .

That's good to know. I'll check the canopy out.

Amazing progress and I'm betting: last to the part and first to cross the finish line!

Could be Peter. :) No real problems so far. 🤞

Nice progress John. With that Aries set , this is going to be really sweet build, can't wait for the update :).

I've set it aside for the moment since to continue I'll need to have the set. It's been shipped so I hope it shows up Saturday 🤞.

You guys are so lucky to get your mail orders in such good time. I have ALWAYS have had to wait AT LEAST a month for anything I have ordered, even if it is ordered within Canada.  🙄

Just seems that’s the way it is. It has been like that here forever. I live in a small town 35 miles north of the U.S. border and half way between Vancouver BC and Calgary Alberta. Not like we are way off the beaten track. I have never got an order in less than at 3 to 4 weeks. Usually between 4 and 6 weeks.

Thanks, John.... it sure can be painful sometimes...

Sad to hear that. The mail here is pretty quick. Even orders from Australia

get here within a week.  It's amazing, considering the mail service is government run.

What happens if you use FedEx or does that just make the order/items way to expensive?

I'm willing to bet your normal monthly bills arrive right on time 😉

Not to high jack your thread , John, but... just a quick answer, if FedEx etc is used , it seems there is a 'Brokerage" fee attached, and that usually adds another 10-12 bucks and that is for nothing...and that infuriates me to no end... and oh yes, ALL the bills arrive ahead of schedule !

Now back to the Mosquito operation...

looking forward to the next update installment, John.....

I decided to go ahead and do the medium sea grey/dk. green camo using Xtracolor paints. Good paint I must say. Now, if the bomb bay set shows up tomorrow I'll be ready to get it installed, etc. :) By the way, the wings are just temporarily in place with no glue whatsoever. I wish all my builds fit this good!:)
