I always print parts in different angles and usually about 6 so i can pick the best. Really annoyed with the MDC castings. The bracket holding the bombsight looks crap as well. I spent almost an hour carving away blobs of resin. Apart from that the detail is pretty basic as well. Redrawing, scratching every part is getting silly.

Well Jeroen got to remember the age of the AM kit and the capabilities at the time. What you can do with the printer is light years ahead of the castings back then might of as well forget about castings in your realm of building for the most part.;)

Well.. i know. But MDC is not an eighties or nineties brand. Every single part needs to be recarved or remade. They include one part double, but both are dreadful.

This could and should not have passed quality control. I’m not a whiner and I will never say anything is unbuildable, but I pay good money for these sets and expect a little bit more. Rant over. Now I’ll fix it.

Just found this in the stash. Gifted by a very dear friend. A piece of aluminium. Not sure what plane it came off, but i can find out. Maybe i should build a U3 version ad well one day.

You know? The photo recon version with the big blisters on the nose.

That's understandable Jeroen somehow I was thinking MDC(never used them) was an older brand of a resin manufacturer.

That is pretty trashy and there is no reason to lie about that. I understand that resin shrinks and has certain amount of shelf life, but this is a lot of distortions. However I do support your masochistic dedication Jeroen. :)

Also the fact, how nonchalantly you're introducing a rare, historical artifacts to every single one of your builds.

It goes like this  " Last nigh I woke up early to take my dog out and as I was shuffling through the darkness of my room, I managed to bump and drop my old typewriter on the ground. Damn, that's the second broken Enigma this week. "

Today the PETG sheets arrived. Tried them in the vacform machine and after 3 tries there was success. If you heat the sheets for a little too long, it all turns white. Now adding the internal framing. The nose cone halves will be the most difficult. If it all fails i will do my best to shine up the MDC resin ones’ and still use those. We’ll see.

A really quick cleanup from the supports. These are very delicate and it’s easy to snip off wiring that needs to stay. Really impressed with the detail!

The inlet cone is much slimmer (and more correct) than the Trumpie one. Only way to use it is to: buy two engines, or… 3d print another one myself.

Attached the wings. Just smeared some putty in preparation of sanding the seam away. My gut feeling is to deepen the panel lines, but i won’t since in reality these were puttied away. As a matter of fact i might not even use panelliner wash
