denders Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 My grandsons gifted me this kit last Christmas. I'm building it as a Hotrod Pickup. There are loads of hot rod parts in the kit. This is Tamiya Lacquer Mica Red paint. I'm not getting into detailing it because this will most likely end up as a long-term Christmas decoration. 9
denders Posted November 24, 2024 Author Posted November 24, 2024 I haven't posted much on this, but I've been working on it. 8
CANicoll Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Beautiful bed on that truck! Great orange finish, too. 3

denders Posted December 1, 2024 Author Posted December 1, 2024 Chris, thanks, the color is Tamiya lacquer Mica Red. Fullarmor, I got those blocks from MicroMark, years ago. The piece they’re sitting on is magnetic sheet on a piece of plywood. I used a white pen to make the grid. All from about ~30+ years ago. I saw the idea in a magazine. 4 1

MicroMark still sell these "engineering blocks" ... Hubert 3 2
denders Posted December 1, 2024 Author Posted December 1, 2024 Thanks for checking Hubert. I was on my phone and really able to go searching. 2
HubertB Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Sorry for the misleading moniker (memory and age don’t go together harmoniously ). It’s a machinist’s angle block. Here is the link : https://micromark.com/collections/mini-hand-tools/products/1-x-1-x-1-inch-angle-plate Hubert 3 2
Landlubber Mike Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Looking great Denders! That's a nice looking red finish. I have those machinist blocks from MicroMark as well. They come in handy for sure, especially given the weight. 3
DocRob Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 Nice and groovy and fitting to the season. Cheers Rob 1

belugawhaleman Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Nice, cheerful subject and fitting for the season. Well done!
KevinM Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 I like Dave and I am not much a car guy after 45 tears in the industry.
