PanzerWomble
Bought this for more NMF trials , this is all Mr Colour super metallics and oil paint rendering . Nice little kit from Hobby boss although there are better ones around in 1/48. I'm fond of the old Wildcat, and the 'yellow wing thing' , might do a few more going forward. No build log as just a trial , pretty much OOB apart from home made belts, scratched canopy so it would sit open . Also today , playing around with new better studio lights & backgrounds.
belugawhaleman
I'm a fan of the Wildcat as well. I have the Tamiya kit in 1/48. How was the Hobby Boss to build?
DocRob
A yellow winged beauty, PW and nice pics with good lighting. You could use a larger aperture for more DOF (depth of field), to get the whole plane captured in sharpness. Cheers Rob

How was the Hobby Boss to build? It was fairly straightforward - I like Hobbyboss ( Trumpeter) . They are not cutting edge in terms of large numbers options or details , but generally build up easily enough - think Tamiya fit. The often do some more obscure models , I did a F84-F a while ago, that was ok , I have an M4 HST to build later this year. I tend to think of them as lower cost options for trying things out ....often paints or other effects. If I was keen for a Wildcat in the cabinet, I'd probably go Profi-pack Eduard or maybe the new Academy one which got a lot of good vibes this year, or possibly the Tamiya one - although that's old tooling now with no wing fold option . 3 hours ago, DocRob said: A yellow winged beauty, PW and nice pics with good lighting. Cheers Rob Cheers Rob I've upgraded my studio lights to be brighter and now controllable for warmth and dimming which is a big step up from earlier this year, far more options . Also gone back to using the DSLR rather than the iPhone , thanks for the advice , I do need to play around more with the manual camera settings an get a better feel for the focus. Macro wasn't cutting it , zoom robbed detail and up close and you get .....what you see above . 😆 2
HubertB
I had missed this one until now. Great result ! I have a very definite bias towards yellow wings, but the finished kit is a beauty ! Well done ! Hubert
CANicoll
PW, You know, not my favorite subject but you really did execute it so well. What a looker. Love your metal work and weathering, nice job! Really like that you built a 'test kit' to try out the paints, but my efforts trying out paints/weathering are nothing like what you did. Beautiful!
