FullArmor Posted January 20 Author Posted January 20 Added details. Adjusted angle. Some are better, some worse. But I believe that after the painting I can be much more satisfied with the end result. 8

FullArmor Posted Sunday at 08:14 AM Author Posted Sunday at 08:14 AM Turret builds slowly but surely. And Bunna 12 to the rescue😀 5
Alan_G Posted Sunday at 08:26 AM Posted Sunday at 08:26 AM I for one, approve of your choice of turret support 👍 1 3

I used these successfully previously with my t-34 build. You can easily drill matching holes to metal bottom and put something heavy inside. So you can get stable platform. 4

This kit has been mixed bag. Some details are nice and some are very crude. Some parts fit is spot on and others are way off...not even close. 3
FullArmor Posted Sunday at 03:11 PM Author Posted Sunday at 03:11 PM I dont mind missing parts, but i hate poor fitting parts. 1 1

One thing I discovered is that the digital calipers always run out of battery when you need them. « Old style » calipers at least don’t need any battery, and I use them all the time. This said, I have a digital one for measuring angles. So that is a 50/50 choice Hubert PS: I only recently got rid of my slide rule. The battery on calculators really lasts a long time … 1 1

Alan_G Posted Tuesday at 07:52 AM Posted Tuesday at 07:52 AM I have no wish to derail your thread, but with the recent news from the Nuremberg toy fair, I just wanted to say that despite your amazing work on this Abrams, I'm unlikely to start my own kit as previously mentioned.... This is why... https://www.das-werk-models.com/products/german-mbt-leopard-2-a7v 1 1

Seriously, I only have a non digital set of calipers. No batteries and always reminding me of my days as a young engineer. Cheers Rob 3

Alan_G Posted Tuesday at 01:15 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:15 PM OK, again I want to stress that I do not want this to detract in anyway from your brilliant build log of the Abrams, but I thought you might be interested to know that Andy's HHQ YouTube channel has recently posted a detailed video on the Das Werk Leopard 2. As he says several times, it's still an early prototype so there are things yet to be added. But even from this early video, it's going to be incredible. 1 1

Tracks build very similar to abrams. fortunately track pins are thicker to prevent warping 2
GusMac Posted Tuesday at 08:51 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:51 PM Price isn't as bad as I thought it might be either! I see a birthday pressie.... 1
FullArmor Posted yesterday at 04:35 AM Author Posted yesterday at 04:35 AM I just realized I have too much 1/16 kits in stash, so i pass this one. But i would definitely like to see WIP build in this forum. 1
