mark31 Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Hello to you all. Im planning to spend some money on new tools and one off it will be a good scriber. What type do you use? I have already seen difrent brands and prices of cours. Also i have seen scribers with changeble tips are these any good ore beter going for a pen version Some input from you that could help me? Thanks Mark 2
HubertB Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Hi Mark, Do not buy the Tamiya one, for sure. It's good for trenches à la Matchbox, and cutting through plastic, but nothing else. Besides the sharp-pointed needle in a pin vise, for some circular engravings, my main goto scriber comes brom UMM-USA. I also have some nice ones (black thin circular handle with a fine hook-like tip), but I cannot remember the manufacturer ... The very thin saws, like my JLC set, are also useful for some engravings. Bomber_County Posted February 10 Posted February 10 I do like Dspaie Tools, I believe they do scribes but haven’t tried them. My collection of their tools is getting larger they are well engineered….IMHO… 3

Hubert, just curious which Tamiya scriber you have? I use a Trumpeter one that looks like a hook, a really old Tritool one that's a pointy looking thing and razor saws.
