Wingco57
Knock knock who's there. A bloody big hole to fill. Why did HK feel the need to create it for locating the outer engines. Did they not foresee a crazy Dutchie with compulsory convertititis. Cees
Wingco57
The other side looks much better. Cees
brahman104
Brilliant work Cees. This is certainly an epic undertaking you are doing here. I'm loving the old school conversion work... Makes my 3d/CAD stuff seem very much like I'm cheating! Craig
Wingco57
Thanks Craig, Conversion work is nice but the continuous sanding isn't. Oh well but it has to be done. Cees
Wingco57
George, When it itches you have to scratch. But you are oh so right. Brenda really knows the feeling. Cees
Wingco57
Been working on the port wing. More of the same. Cees
Wingco57
Managed to cut the port wing to the same lenght as the other one, using trail and error. Pics to follow later (if you are not bored by seing pics of sanded down wings) Cees
Wingco57
Looks like am the only one who responds to my own posts. Made more progres but in photographs it looks much the same as previous pics posted here. Will quietlly beaver away on the wings and structurally finish them. It's only sanding/filling/sanding at the moment. Very boring but necessary. As soon as substantial progress has been made I will report here again. GusMac
Looks great Cees. You get a real impression of the scale in those images... and of the amount of dust you must have created to get to this point! Gus
Wingco57
Gus, Should have seen the floor. There is dust everywhere, but I have to do my own dustsucking Glad to be at this point after all the hard work. Plugged the large depressions on the underside too. Notice in the pics that the centre sections chord is longer than the outer wings. No use putting more material on the outer wings, better cut back the inner sections. Bit cheating but it will not show. The basic Manchester is almost finished and after that it's the engine nacelles. That is where Jeroen comes in. Very pleased I am. Yod....err Cees

Wingco57
Then again, While spraying both Spitfire cockpits there was some paint left in the cup, so I thought,well..... why not spraying the Manchester cockpit too. With that green layer the scratchbuilt interior detail looks very effective. Cees
