Wingco57 Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 Knock knock who's there. A bloody big hole to fill. Why did HK feel the need to create it for locating the outer engines. Did they not foresee a crazy Dutchie with compulsory convertititis. Cees
brahman104 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Brilliant work Cees. This is certainly an epic undertaking you are doing here. I'm loving the old school conversion work... Makes my 3d/CAD stuff seem very much like I'm cheating! Craig
Wingco57 Posted March 5, 2016 Author Posted March 5, 2016 Thanks Craig, Conversion work is nice but the continuous sanding isn't. Oh well but it has to be done. Cees
Wingco57 Posted March 5, 2016 Author Posted March 5, 2016 George, When it itches you have to scratch. But you are oh so right. Brenda really knows the feeling. Cees
Wingco57 Posted March 6, 2016 Author Posted March 6, 2016 Been working on the port wing. More of the same. Cees 1
Wingco57 Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 Managed to cut the port wing to the same lenght as the other one, using trail and error. Pics to follow later (if you are not bored by seing pics of sanded down wings) Cees
Wingco57 Posted March 9, 2016 Author Posted March 9, 2016 Looks like am the only one who responds to my own posts. Made more progres but in photographs it looks much the same as previous pics posted here. Will quietlly beaver away on the wings and structurally finish them. It's only sanding/filling/sanding at the moment. Very boring but necessary. As soon as substantial progress has been made I will report here again. Cees
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted March 9, 2016 Administrators Posted March 9, 2016 Think you missed a spot ;D Did the small window masks work by the way??
Wingco57 Posted March 9, 2016 Author Posted March 9, 2016 Hi Jeroen. Haven't tried them yet. Too busy sanding. But you will like these pics. Cees 3
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted March 9, 2016 Administrators Posted March 9, 2016 Aaaaahhhhhh here we go! The beast is back!
GusMac Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Looks great Cees. You get a real impression of the scale in those images... and of the amount of dust you must have created to get to this point! Gus
Wingco57 Posted March 10, 2016 Author Posted March 10, 2016 Gus, Should have seen the floor. There is dust everywhere, but I have to do my own dustsucking Glad to be at this point after all the hard work. Plugged the large depressions on the underside too. Notice in the pics that the centre sections chord is longer than the outer wings. No use putting more material on the outer wings, better cut back the inner sections. Bit cheating but it will not show. The basic Manchester is almost finished and after that it's the engine nacelles. That is where Jeroen comes in. Very pleased I am. Yod....err Cees 1
Screamer Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Wow...sweet....love to dovthe Lancaster but it's the B-17 that rules my heart even if I have burn out syndrome at the moment!!! 1
brahman104 Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 That's dedication! So much sanding........ Looking very cool indeed. Craig
Administrators James H Posted March 12, 2016 Administrators Posted March 12, 2016 Heavy going! Finished tonight?
Wingco57 Posted March 12, 2016 Author Posted March 12, 2016 Not this night, bit fed up with the heavy brea..... sanding. Will do a simple kit in between, such as a Revell Mk I Spit. Don't worry, work will continue. Cees 1

Wingco57 Posted March 14, 2016 Author Posted March 14, 2016 It's resting now. Visiting times between 14:00 and 14:03 monthly Cees 2
Wingco57 Posted March 25, 2016 Author Posted March 25, 2016 Then again, While spraying both Spitfire cockpits there was some paint left in the cup, so I thought,well..... why not spraying the Manchester cockpit too. With that green layer the scratchbuilt interior detail looks very effective. Cees 1
seiran01 Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 I think you missed a spot... Just joking, glad to see some more progress on this, it looks very nice! 1
Administrators Fran Posted March 25, 2016 Administrators Posted March 25, 2016 Looking great... It will be on Telford Cees?
