crazypoet Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 That's some impressive CAD, and a great print! 1
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted April 20, 2017 Administrators Posted April 20, 2017 Oh... wow... Lovely resolution on the print! Where did you have that printed if I may ask? 1
shark64 Posted April 21, 2017 Author Posted April 21, 2017 I used the prop house we work with. Shape ways would have printed it too. 1
shark64 Posted April 23, 2017 Author Posted April 23, 2017 Had to redo frame on new tractor because of size difference. 1
coolboxx Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 This is out the box modelling,,,, I mean blue sky building. Great work.... 1
shark64 Posted May 5, 2017 Author Posted May 5, 2017 Moving pieces around and some figures. I'm trying to position everything the best I know how. Input welcome. 3
crazypoet Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 I can't give "realistic" feedback as I have exactly zero experience with carrier flight decks at work. One thing I can't tell is whether the dio is built around mission prep (arming, fueling) or post-mission maintenance/repair - or is there even a distinction in the vehicles and crew between those two activities? i'm curious now... what's the story that you want to tell?
shark64 Posted May 6, 2017 Author Posted May 6, 2017 It's right before taking off for the mission. This is just a preliminary positioning.

So arming and fueling, plus last-minute attention from the crew chief - lots of activity and to-and-fro. This gives me context for the people and vehicles.
crazypoet Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Agreed - nice job on both the CAD work and the design of the components/assembly
shark64 Posted June 27, 2017 Author Posted June 27, 2017 And here's the crew of my dio. They look a little pale. Few days in the sun should bring some colors.
DocRob Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 The Pale Riders, at least most of them have their shades or goggles down for the sun to come up on them . Great work shark and by that I mean your whole project which I enjoy more and more to follow. Cheers Rob

GusMac Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 Thanks, did wonder if that's where they were from. Have seen them used on a carrier deck diorama and they looked excellent.
coolboxx Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 Can't wait to see this complete, those figures look so good.
