Administrators JeroenPeters Posted April 30, 2013 Author Administrators Share Posted April 30, 2013 Hi Guys, In between the crowning of our new king and going to the cinema with Cees (and spouses) i managed to finish the internals. I just love these WnW substructures.... I have painted the engine, but will not detail it further, since the cowlings won't let you see much. Cheers! GUY5Y
There are a good few of you on this site that inspire/frighten me at the same time. I may not be overly active, but please know that thanks to the sublime skills of the craftsmen, and the unstinting hard work of the site organisers, this site gives me a daily HUGE head shake and smile. Moderator, please feel free to post this in a more appropriate place?......Now for a Heineken. And I blame the spelling of my earlier post on Dutch beer.

Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 5, 2013 Author Administrators Share Posted May 5, 2013 haha! i do most of my modeling on the living room. Warm and cozy by the fire (and TV). I get away with a lot, until i start sanding. That's when i get the evil looks... Here's a pic that doesn;t show a lot of progress, but took quite some time. Getting rid of seams. Hollowing exhausts.

Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 11, 2013 Author Administrators Share Posted May 11, 2013 Haha! When I'm sanding stuff in the living room, she always asks: no dust comes from that does it? I always say: I'm polishing. When you polish your nails, nothing comes off from that does there? --- little pause ---- Sanding continues! Here's some parts I just 'polished' Yup, after years of evil looks I'm down here in the basement with the Cave Crickets!

Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 16, 2013 Author Administrators Share Posted May 16, 2013 Hi guys! Not much time at the bench, but this kit is enjoying in so many levels. The HGW upgrades really set this kit off. Here's the Lewis gun. Only need to add the buckle on the leather drum strap. Cheers! Jeroen

d_em
Yup, after years of evil looks I'm down here in the basement with the Cave Crickets! That's interesting - you have those in the US? I always though they were native to New Zealand (called Weta's here). Learn something new every day. Our's tend to live in trees etc so don't see them too much indoors - which is just as well as some run to 1/32nd scale!

Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 19, 2013 Author Administrators Share Posted May 19, 2013 Thnx guys, Today I started paint work on the forward fuselage. This part was aluminum. I haven't found any pics of heavy chipping or weathering BUT i felt like chipping. I used AK chipping medium. This works way more delicate than hairspray. First coat: Alclad aluminum. Followed by Micro Gloss coat. Then water thinned AK chipping medium. Then Mr. Hobby Olive. Cheers!
