Finally got back the bench. I tires to airbrush the Diamond T chassis but for some reason I had a hard time holding the airbrush. I had to switch hands to get it done.

Thankfully it's all one colour and will get some weathering to it so that'll cover any bad spots

She's back on the bench instead of under it. I decided to take the Tamiya F-14 I had previously started and try to make some progress on it. This one was a bit warped compared to the one I did earlier and the two fuselage halves weren't mating nicely. I finally got it sorted and together.

The join seam still isn't pretty but is much better than it was.

Gus, this one is an original boxing of the kit so it's from the '80s. It's actually the very first 1/32 aircraft kit done by Tamiya. They've come a long way since then that's for sure.

Cars. Car show coming up that I have not been too before , so I need something to enter. Shows are no fun if you don't enter.

1/24 Tamiya 240Z street sport. Beautiful kit. Really outstanding.

1/20 Tamiya McLaren MP 4/13. Not quite as nice as the Z, but it's at least 25 years it's senior.

And the aftermath of the Kangaroo, to lazy to clean bench until it really becomes an issue...

And another one of the pesky 109's sneaking into everything. They are as bad as cats, really.

My first try at building it was around the same time. Made a right mess of it and I don't think I actually finished it.

I thought about building one as well in this livery, but until now, it´s only an idea. No idea, what needs to be changed from the kit.

Studio27 DC1253: Marking / livery 1/24 scale - Nissan 240Z Bre-Datsun Team #3, 46 - Dan Parkinson (US), John McComb (US), John Morton (US) - SCCA National Sports Car Championship 1970 and 1971 - for Tamiya reference TAM24367 (ref. ST27-DC1253) | SpotModel

Great minds think alike, evidently. I am doing mine as a BRE tribute car. Street legal with all the required parts, but using the paint scheme as a jumping off point. I have that decal sheet. Problem is at the moment I can't decide if I want it left or right hand drive. Which affects some of the detail. And I am probably going to use a darker blue. That's all theory right now.

To model the race car the interior would have to be modified quite a bit. Bt the exterior changes seem to be minimal.

Growing up my neighbors knew Pete Brock, and their son had a Datsun 510, which was BRE's other famous race car. So he had an original BRE front spoiler on it.

Bandai's newest kit just came out and after having watched a couple unboxing and build videos of it, I pulled out the closest thing I had to it in the stash.

PXL_20260215_024604944.thumb.jpg.500748b8a02a6c1a670ee0a7c198b083.jpg

This one is from 2014 and nowhere near the new kit in detail/parts count/fit/articulation.

PXL_20260215_024752301.thumb.jpg.c02628e93f9d664f2f55144cceb50779.jpg

Upon opening the box, I came to a couple conclusions:

1) it's still a lot of parts.

2) the box won't even fit on my bench

3) my pile of started kits on the bench is getting a bit out of hand already.

PXL_20260215_175848472.thumb.jpg.ab1bc5f6d4577a8d62adb8947f1fadcd.jpg

So back in the box it went. As soon as this pile shrinks a bit, I'll take another look see.

To that effect, I did some quick paint and putty work on the USN Horten .
