shark64
Thanks Harv Gluing in process and edge pre painting. Will let it all rest 24 hours before I start the ground work.I glued the mat to a large piece of black styrene, the ground mat is from a reptile store. It was a challenge to cut it straight because of the small rocks, I ended cutting it from the back with a surgical scalpel. This is what I will try to achieve. 6
Peterpools
Oliver Nice to see where you are going - progress: right on target. When I was a model railroader many decades ago, the supplies available were amazing and now they are even better and more realistic. Woodland Scenic and Scenic Express come to mind.👍

shark64
Made a big mistake, I wanted to seal everything with 777 glue and it made the base little fuzzy, no bueno. will start over.
Peterpools
Oh no, I hate back tracking but it's the right way to correct the base. Seems there are builds I feel I spend more time re-doing and back tracking then moving forward.

shark64
Update. Remade the base. I am waiting on the grass stuff to come in. I will need to paint the base which I was not planning on doing, it looks to dark for the dio. 9
Peterpools
Oliver Agreed, the soil and dirt does look too dark, almost heading towards a dark muddy brown. maybe a few days break who give you a chance to think things out before painting the soil.
shark64
I ended up making the base again. The larger rocks did not work for me. I want to add a field generator and a field fuel transfer rig but nothing exists in 1/32 so I am trying to make them. first coat paint on the base, I am waiting for the various schrubs to show up in the mail to continue painting. 7
