The Great LSM Twins Group Build ends July 3, 2024 ×

Let's agree. Modelling is great!

Recommended Posts

Hey modellers. Please put the blade down.

I get such a buzz when modelling. In my world I can attempt to build whatever I like. How can I ever be bored? I have so many disasters to save!

I love looking at photos of models. I see amazing things. People are so talented.

Check photos, read about a subject, figure out how to do it....

Modelling is awesome.

My favourite part is wearhering.

I am interested to learn how other modellers feel about their projects.

Modelling in all it's aspects is great...........isn't??

Somethimes i just sit in my modelling chair looking at my modelling table and knowing just how much i am lucky that i all have this stuff. On the other hand, i'm married, and the most joy is just knowing that my wife has no problem's what's so ever that i'm using my spare time in the modelling bussiness.

As Danny says it's great to know you have the ability and opportunity to build cool (well we think so!) things as and when you like.

Personally, I like basic construction and weathering as my favourite parts of the process. Some things I find less enjoyable - stencils on jets, fiddly PE - but they're still better than most of the alternatives.

I enjoy it all, but my absolute favorite moment in modeling is when a build is all wrapped up.  You get to sit there and take in what you have accomplished.   The delayed gratification coming to light is an absolutely wonderful feeling.  You spend weeks staring at trees and then BAM, you see the forest in all its wholeness.

All of the above is right on, a buddy of mine who is the Prez of the society of the 1 to 1 Mosquito we are restoring, said it is more about the journey getting to the finished product than the finished product itself......................  I kind of agree with that as well.....  for example, some of us, well most of us have the same interests, and it was ( is ) the journey I'm on at the moment of my insane interest in all things fire bomber or air tankers, the journey to get at least one of my ideas to come alive, takes me here, and figuratively to Texas, where I 'met' Tony, and we formed a bonded friendship, and I found out how generous he is..... so that being part of the journey to get to the end is worth a whole bucket of gold to me, new friends and HUGE generosity................. makes me think this world isn't as bad as some say it is.............. just my 2c worth.....

Just three, lucky you ! I have about eight currently in progress although progress may not be the best term as some of them have been in that state now for several years, I like to have several on the go so I can jump from one to another while paint or glue is drying or if I temporarily lose interest one and yes it sometimes is a challenge to keep track of parts.
