It's not about what other modellers say, I want to know myself... -
Taming the Owl! Revell's He-219
One-Oh-Four replied to JeroenPeters's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Nice Jeroen! I chose the exact opposite direction and bought the Z-M He 219A-0, because we differ of opinion and I DID want the model with the better shapes. AND because it's already an A-0 which flew from Venlo in the Netherlands in the operational testing phase. But I'm REALLY curious to see what you'll make of this kit with all the AM you are going to put into it! It'll be good, I know! WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!! -
Interior RAF interior colours WW II
One-Oh-Four replied to One-Oh-Four's topic in Modelling Discussion
Yeah, Paul, I know. I'm not talking about Lend-Lease. When GB started to get their a/c through Lend-Lease instead of specially ordered acquisitions, they got them (mostly) as the AAF would. In any case the interior colours or the primers used would be just as the AAF got them. I'm talking specifically about British built RAF aircraft interiors. Just like I will use a different colour for a P-47 interior as opposed to a P-38, I'd like to know if the RAF colour was indeed greener than always was thought. If so, I can adjust my finish accordingly to better portray how the cockpit would've looked like. To get it 100% spot-on is impossible for me, it just has to look convincing. -
Hi guys, What are the findings at this time by aviation historians / archaeologists on the interior colours used by the RAF in WW II? I've always thought it was the well known grey-green as exemplified by this walk around-photo from the Aircraft Resource Center's walk around section: However, I remember someone telling me (or did I read it on the internet?) that this grey-green was more of a post-war color and the interior -or at least the cockpit colours- of RAF a/c in WW II were much greener. Is this true or is it a legend or just mis-information? Thanks in advance! Erik.

Well, what can I say that hasn't been said before? The Pontos set being installed on this Missouri is truly eye-candy! I've been on USS Wisconsin last month so I'll be TRULY critical! What color scheme will she carry, won't it be a challenge to mask it with all that PE?

Muhahahahahaha!!!

Wow! Really like your weathering finish!

Wow! Great idea! I like the way you are adding the damage!

Great review, Jim! As a matter of fact; concerning stressed skin replication; Kinetic did that with their 1/32 F-86 Sabres a couple of years ago.

And you know, the truth ALWAYS comes out! Yvonne found out that I ALSO have a "hideously expensive" HpH-model AND that I DIDN'T sell 4 kits to get it!

Sorry Rick....... I feel very bad about it.... If I remember it right I said that in English because Yvonne ( my own SWMBO) joined us to pull me out of there since we were at Rick's bench already longer (of course...) than I said we would... I felt that saying it in Dutch would exclude Rick and be rude.... Little did I know that Mrs. K. followed Yvonne down the stairs.... I DID try to make up for it by lamely adding that Rick sold four expensive kits to get that one. But just like the Ho 229 or the Do 335; "Too little, too late"!

Special Hobby 1/32 Hawker Tempest Mk.V (SH32049)
One-Oh-Four replied to petr@specialhobby's topic in Special Hobby
Petr, I'm seriously dissapointed. You know, I didn't buy the PCM model because I chose to wait for your model, thinking it would be superior... I will be buying a PCM model now, because of the GB Beaches to Berlin. I will probably buy one of yours too when it's out, but it's not as sure as it was, anymore. -
AMAD DH2, WINGNUT WINGS 1/32

Wow, REALLY great work and a really great magazine! Some questions: - Is this magazine in English too? - Did you use round or flat wire for your British aircraft? -
Great work Ralph!! I managed to scrounge a Tamiya rack when my Local Hobby Shop got a new one for the smaller paint bottles. Must be 15 years ago?....

Friggin' great work! I had anticipated that your carelessness in adapting a stand early in the build would bite you in the back-side but it seems my worries were premature! Looks really awesome!

Revell Vintage 1982 1/32 A-1A Skyraider

We have a saying "Op een ouwe fiets leer je fietsen", or : "you learn to ride on an old bike". It's usually used however in conjunction with a young guy having a relationship with an older woman........ -

At the Nats their owner also said they're going to do an F-86 Sabre, an F-4 Phantom and an F-14 Tomcat.... Pretty ambitious, if they'll also do a series of Fw 190A's! I just hope that their "basic" series won't have "half" detail molded in. Rather less wing spars and ribs or no invisible details like fuel tanks or complete radiators but still separate parts for guns and cockpit details.

And now you'll also have to buy all those PE sets for the latticeworks beneath the flightdeck... Besides an incredible amount of Barracuda sets for the Mustang, Corsair and Spit I/II I succumbed to Z-M's Ta 152H at the IPMS USA Nats this week... Still not sure how to get that thing home...
