  1. I wish I could say this through my own experience, but alas, no such joy.... Alclad should be resistant to masking of the red scallops. If you paint the red afterwards you also have the benefit of masking "paint chips" with masking fluid or by the use of the "hairspray technique". I think that chipping the red with a cocktail stick directly may prove harder since the red should have a good grip on the Alclad. If the kit were on my bench, I'd airbrush the Alclad (all different shades) and then mask & paint the scallops. Good luck! Erik.
  2. Cool project. It's a very nicely detailed kit, although with some soft details here and there. Fit can also be challenging if you want to keep the raised surface detailing!
  3. Wow, that really looks great! Great detail and finish. I love the scenic photography!!
  4. Wow, great detailed WIP! Quite the project, certainly no shake 'n' bake! Keep up teh good work!
  5. Eh, the dog's bollocks..... (Read that every month in English car magazines about car stereos and the works, so must relate to the good hearing of dogs...)
  6. Looks good, Jeroen! Do a macro-like shot of the planking of the bed so we can see how the woodgrain looks, please?
  7. Great project, Tom! As others said: I'll follow your suffering progress with interest! And indeed, a long fuselage, good that the Brits decided on those "clipped" wings during it's development, what? Cheers, Erik.
  8. Great! Thanks for the heads-up!! Cheers, Erik.
  9. Hi Ulrich, Great finish on this old kit! Sometimes it's easy to forget that with TLC they are still very buildable! Thanks for your posting! Cheers, Erik.
  10. Hi Ralph, you started two exactly the same topics on the FGA.9 Hunter. I hope you don't mind I deleted one of them, the first you posted. Nice topic, I'm interested to see how this build will prgress as I heard many good things on the kit but don't see too many of them built up at shows... Cheers, Erik.
  11. Hi Abramsguy! Terrific build!! Great to hear it's a relatively quick project too. I like ALL of it!
  12. What he said, too!
  13. Great looking project Bevan! I really like how you get the best of the standard kit parts with your painting and weathering techniques. Not to forget the rivetting and welds!
  14. Looks like there are some areas on every Z-M kit that do need some extra TLC. I've seen it with the AD-6, P-51D and the Ta 152 too. On the other hand; the AD-6 has a MUCH better prop and engine than Trumpeter, the P-51D is €30 to €40 cheaper than Tamiya's over here, the Ta 152 has great details and is the only "mainstream" longwing available and the Uhu has better shapes than the Revell.
  15. Thank you for the informative and complete write-up, Francisco! Modellers should be aware however that the style of building (stones, roof tiles, shutters) would not be correct for a Dutch or Northern German diorama. I think it would look okay for (the northern half of) France like Normandy or the Vosges areas though. Walls and roofs like that can also be found in the Ardennes region of Belgium.
  16. Wow, very attractive!!
  17. Now I know why you keep postponing that cup of coffee at your place....
  18. Thanks Cees! Can you perhaps share your recipe for your cockpit colour? I didn't know Edgar left, but a pity indeed! His knowledge is gold!...
  19. Thanks for the informative review, guys!
  20. Torben, thanks for sharing these very interesting photos!
