Contemplating Hasegawa's Ju 87D/G but like Dave, need to do some digging to find a suitable subject. And rivet plans...

Hello Will. Looks like a cracker! Lovely tones. Cheers, Ralph. -
Hello ophthoidoug. I used Radu Brinzan's Rivet-R pounce wheel tool to add the rivets. Great little tool that comes with different wheels for different teeth spacings. I prefer it to some of the other offerings as it leaves a hole rather than a square-edged slot. I followed in places with the metal pin in areas that I couldn't reach with the wheel. The steel rule is a broken piece of a carpenter's retractable measuring tape - nice and flexible with a good crisp edge. It was simply held in place by hand - no tape used. As for a learning curve, I find that rescaling plans so that you can use a set of dividers to simply measure/transfer the measurement directly from the plan to the plastic helps to speed things up. It also helps to get reliable measurements when working with mating/matching parts like the fuselage halves. Measure start and end of a rivet line from the plan. Mark the points on the plastic. Join the marks with a flexibel guide. Roll on the rivets. Hope this helps. Cheers, Ralph.

Dy-noh-miittee Jeroen. Love it. Cheers, Ralph. -
Cracker! Not that easy to pull off such subtle tonal variation. Love the colours. Hat off for doing such a great job of mating the upper engine deck part to the fuselage nose too. No signs of ghost seams there. Somewhat hard to see from the pics, but keep an eye locating the cowl MG parts. I followed the kit instructions which left me with no MG muzzle protruding rem the starboard opening. Cheers, Ralph.

Hasegawa's 32nd scale Bf109 modelled as a Finnish Air Force G-2 for Geoff Coughlin's website. Thanks to Geoff for sourcing the kit, Mika Heikkila for conversations about FAF 109s, and Mal Mayfield for cutting the custom paint masks. Build should be up in a few days... Thanks for looking. Cheers, Ralph.

Hello ophthoidoug. No - no lines first. I scale rivet plans to 1:32 and then use a pair of dividers to mark the start and endpoints of the lines. Then just align the flexible steel rule and emboss the rivets. The steel rule is just held in place with fingers - much easier and quicker. For NM/silver finishes I gently sand the rivet bumps with worn 1200 wet-and-dry emery paper under the tap. For camo schemes, I leave the bumps there and gently sand after the camo's been applied. That way you can expose some of the rivets and add a darker wash to contrast the "hole" against the paintwork/exposed rivet. Hope this helps. Cheers, Ralph. -

Lovely stuff Rick. Something appealing about the "unmottled" 190's. Cheers, Ralph. -
Great stuff - well one to the LSM contributors. Sign me up for a boxart option build when she's released.
