  1. Hi Ken, You can email to me at dave@scaleplasticandrail.com or dave@largescalemodeller.com and I will get them up as soon as they hit my inbox.
  2. Where did you order from Steve? I know about that shipping issue!
  3. I had the question asked to me last night on the differences on the F4U-1 Birdcage compared to a F4U-1A/1D... I know a few of you are waiting for the F4U-1A/1D... but it is possible to build a 1A/1D but you would require some parts from the later release from Tamiya or another manufactures kit... F4U-1 early/mid Birdcage (Tamiya Kit #60324) to F4U-1 Late (-1A destination, not officially used till post war) Redesigned Bubble Canopy. Antenna Mast fitted to Fuse, aft of Cockpit. Pilots Seat raised by 180mm/7in (5.14mm/0.2in in 1/32 scale). Lengthened tail wheel strut. USMC F4U's lacked arrester hooks and had a pneumatic tail wheel. USN F4U's had smaller diameter solid rubber tail wheel. First to be able to carry a drop tank under the centre section of the Fuse. Belly window was deleted on most airframes. F4U-1 Late - F4U-1D Twin-rack plumbing for additional drop tank. Underwing Rocket launchers/tabs (last 266 F4U-1D's)
  4. I will have to look some up now!
  5. You have smashed this one out of the park Chris! Has to be the best 1/24 Mossie build I have seen!

  11. 1/32 P-47C/D Main wheels Barracuda Cast Catalogue # See article. Available from Barracuda Studios for $8.95 each Roy Sutherland at Barracuda Studios has sent LSM his latest wheel sets, this time for fans of accurate 1:32 P-47 'Jugs'. Wheels are a science in themselves, with numerous tread patterns being used in various theatres, periods etc. Barracuda have released THREE new sets to cater to all your Thunderbolt needs, and these are: Product # 32059 Block Tread Product # 32060 Diamond Tread Product # 32061 Cross Tread Barracuda Studios is based in Fremont, California and ran by Roy Sutherland, who is a very talented modeller. For those who are not familiar with Roy's work... He produces some very fine upgrade/correction parts for a few different kits on the market of different scales. The quality of his work has to be the best on the market these days and even better, I personally believe his products are worth more than you actually pay! But just don't mention that to him! One... well not just one, but three of Barracuda Cast latest releases are for the 1/32 Republic P-47C/D Thunderbolt kits that are currently on the market and suit either the Revell, Trumpeter and Hasegawa kits. All these kit's have the same problem, some worst than others and poorly detailed and incorrect tires and hubs. Each set has six beige/light tan resin parts and a full set of colour instructions, which is neatly sealed in a zip-lock bag and secured to the retail cardboard packaging. Each resin piece is elegantly casted and finished without any casting imperfections. The separate hub pieces are crisp and beautifully detail. Two types of hubs are offered, the plain cover or slotted options. The slotted option has a small amount of flash to be removed between each spoke. The three common tire patterns that are found fitted to the P-47 Thunderbolt are now available, which are the Block, Diamond and Cross tread patterns. With these three tread options now available to modellers, you can now mix and match the tread, as is commonly seen on many Thunderbolts. From left - Hasegawa, Barracuda Cast, Hasegawa, Trumpeter Treads So what do we think? My only complaint is that is no tail wheel supplied, would and nice addition if you're not a fan of the rubber tire that is supplied in Trumpeters kits. Otherwise the wheels are beautifully detailed, the low cost for the product...The best P-47 mainwheels in town, a must for any 32nd scale C/D Jug! Highly Recommend! Our sincere thanks to Roy at Barracuda Studios for the review samples used here. To purchase this directly, click the links in the review article. Dave J.

  15. Mud (Various types) MIG Productions See article for details and price Available from Creative Models for £5.99 each Ever wanted to create a muddy landscape for your diorama but didn't know how to achieve it? Well, MIG Productions latest addition to their range is MIG Productions MUD. With this new product range, all modellers will be able create realistic mud, soils and landscapes in your dioramas and models with ease and less fuss to other methods that have been used in the past. The products we've been sent to take a look at are: Product # P500 Europe Dry Mud (Fine Texture) Product # P501 Europe Dry Mud (Rough Texture) Product # P502 Europe Wet Mud (Fine Texture) Product # P503 Europe Wet Mud (Rough Texture) Product # P506 Sub Sahara Wet Mud (Fine Texture) Product # P507 Sub Sahara Wet Mud (Rough Texture) With MIG Productions MUD's you will find, not only different colours, you will also find different textures to suit your requirements with Fine and Rough options. MIG Productions MUD is a coloured, slightly gritty paste of acrylic resin, pigment with micro particles. The paste can be easily applied with a brush or some sort of spatula, the product is easily shaped to render a mud terrain in all kinds of conditions, sandy beach, desert dunes... It can be also used for rust and weathered metal textures. This product can also be applied into tank tracks or wheels in order to represent mud, soil build up, or even to create muddy clothes, boots on figures and maybe for non-slip surfaces on vehicles. For more effects and colour variations, MIG Productions MUD ranges can be mixed with MIG Productions Pigments, Filters, Washes and MIG Acrylic Resin. So what do you get in the 70mm x 35mm deep plastic tub? 75ml of Mud resin paste that is secured with a screw on lid. There is also a tight push fit insert which keeps the paste fresh for future use and prolonging shelf life. There are no instructions on the tub how to use the product, but I gave the resin paste a quick stir with a stick, and used a plastic spoon to scoop the paste out of the tub, and a was used brush to move it about on the test board. I found that hot water did remove most of the paste from the brush, but I would recommend using an old brush as it could end up ruining it. Drying time was about 2 hours sitting in the direct sun, but I could see it being more 3-4 hours if you don't have those conditions. So what do we think? The paste holds pretty much any form that you can shape it in. Nicely packaged in an air tight tub, which will help its shelf life. An easy to use product for any level of experience modeller. Highly Recommended Our sincere thanks to Creative Models for the review samples used here. To purchase this directly, click the links in the review article. Dave J.
